Westmark Fairbanks Hotel and Conference Center

It says pet friendly. When we checked in, they charged us 75.00 for having our dog. As we were heading out to dinner, the owner harassed us about our bulldog n said guests complained about his breed. He wanted us to leave. My bulldog is a service dog for seizures. He never barked or went near any other guests. He was on a leash, and we went straight from our vehicle to our room through a side door. We are very offended and hurt. The bed in our room was sagging in the middle, so we sunk in. Absolutely the worst bed ever.

It was a great property.

The staff is under staffed. My room was missing towels, urine was still on the toilet from the previous guests. Front desk would not answer the phone. I called from the room and my cell and they wouldn’t answer for about 15 min. I walked down still calling on my phone and the employee was just standing there phone ringing and was like “sorry about that “.

@Hilton - needs to drop this place. This place is poorly run and clearly not receiving any investment to maintain the place. We arrived around 5PM from our land tour with a cruise line. Our room wasn't ready because housekeeping was understaffed, which was not a big deal as we went and ate dinner at the restaurant. However, we didn't get into our room until almost 9PM. And this was only because we had security go up with us to check the room. Housekeep failed to inform the front desk that the room was ready. The carpets were stained in the room. The thermostat is from the 90's and the AC/Heat unit in room was extremely noisy and didn't seem to work. (we left the window open for cool air. The grout for the tiles in the shower/tub were cracking and seriously discolored. And we walked past a homeless person Sunday afternoon sleeping in the vestibule as we entered the building at one of the conference center entrances. Unless you have to stay there with a cruise line, do not waste your money.

Dirty, ripped drapery that is disgusting, bugs in room (they sprayed and still here), smells like weed, carpet gross. Was booked here after Holland America cruise so didn't have a choice. They didn't even have washcloths (asked twice!). Restaurant would not even allow us to get napkins or plates for our delivered food to eat.
