Yes, when I arrived after traveling all day all I wanted was a hot shower and it was from that when I got into the shower it was freezing cold and never warmed up.

Scheduled a sales meeting, rooms and catering for meetings, exceeded our expectations and we were thoroughly satisfied. I stay at this property regularly throughout the year and feel like I’m at home each and every time!

I had five rooms booked early November Thursday to Sunday last for my cousin’s wedding. The reservations were made several months in advance. There were multiple issues that I raised to the hotel and they acted like they didn’t care at all… Room Type Guarantee – Before arrival, I was informed that rooms with two double beds could not be guaranteed, despite that specific room type being selectable at booking. After several discussions, three of the five rooms were guaranteed as doubles, which worked out. However, the sofa beds in the other rooms were extremely uncomfortable—essentially just springs. Had we known how poor the quality was, I would have insisted on doubles for all rooms. Housekeeping Response Time – On our first night, we requested extra sheets, blankets, and towels for two rooms with more than two guests. Despite multiple calls and visits to the front desk, it took over four hours—until after 11:30 p.m.—for the items to arrive. The night shift agent eventually went to the back himself to get them, which we greatly appreciated, but the delay was unacceptable. Heating Issue – The heater in one of our rooms did not work, requiring us to switch rooms, which was inconvenient. Noise Levels – Several of our rooms were near the stairwell, and the noise insulation was extremely poor. We were kept awake by slamming doors and running footsteps for much of the night. While guest behavior isn’t within the hotels control, the lack of soundproofing made rest very difficult. Parking Availability – We repeatedly struggled to find parking, driving in circles for up to 20 minutes. The rear lot appeared to have open spaces but was marked for employees only. It would help if the hotel could expand or reallocate parking for guests during high-occupancy weekends. Billing Errors – I spent several hours resolving a billing issue where I was incorrectly charged for a points room and for high-speed Wi-Fi on a Globalist/Guest of Honor reservation. While I’m told this has now been corrected, it was frustrating to have to review the bill line by line to explain errors that originated with the hotel. There were also a few minor issues, some likely related to the large hockey group staying at the same time, which I understand was beyond your control. I recommend avoiding this hotel.

Poor service by the hotel staff. Did not deliver the bar of soap missing in the vanity. Did nothing about bunch of young kids like 12 year olds yelling unsupervised in a room while the parents traveling together were in the main lobby relaxing and talking. The noise from the kids kept the guests awake till 11:30 at night until the patents came up.

Bed was broken. Mattresses are awful parts sticking out of the bed absolutely no amenities at all. This seems like a discount hotel not a Hyatt Regency. I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

Horrible experience. You could not control the temperature in the rooms. My room was always super hot making it very uncomfortable even when I turned off the AC. The food was not good. I recommend to dine out until they improve there menu.

HSH is way behind in posting - better late than never? On my last work trip to the Chicago area, my favorite hotel was sold out so I found another nearby Hyatt and stayed at the Hyatt Regency Deerfield. The hotel feels a bit dated but doesn’t every average hotel nowadays? Just going to get right down to my pro/con/recommendation list for this one: Pro’s: - Fluffy towels - Big room with separate area for couch/living space and a separate spot for the desk, making for easy work set-up Con’s: - Walls are super thin; I could hear everything my neighbor was discussing in his room. Additionally, every time another guest nearby would close their door, my door and walls would shake - The carpet in the hallways leading to guest room was bubbling up causing tripping hazard; it was also just old and gross - Major shower issues - to turn the water on, you have to literally get in the shower and get wet. This would be fine if the water was instantly hot, but it’s not… they need to move where the shower dial is to turn shower on. The shower is also designed like a European shower with half glass instead of full door or curtain. That can’t be fun when it’s below zero temps in Chicago Recommendations: - Place a lamp or some sort of switch for lighting near the bed. There was no bedside lighting so guests have to get out of bed to turn lights off/on. - Change entire shower per the above details Would I stay here again? Sure - if no other Hyatt, Marriott, or Hilton was available within 15 miles…
