Cheeca Lodge & Spa

Great location, nice grounds, generally nice/helpful staff, and enjoyed the 2 on site restaurants we ate at. Very disappointed with our room. Cosmetically, it was dated (but beds were comfortable) and there were problems. Both maintenance and engineering were needed in our room (maintenance twice) because the safe broke with our car keys and wallets in it). It took a few hours for them to figure it out and they had to replace the safe door. Shower water temperatures seemed random; sometimes only scalding and sometimes tepid at hot setting, and the cold setting once gave the perfect hot temp. The sink temperature was a perpetual tepid. Cleaning happened quite late one day (mid-afternoon) after we got back and one day when we arrived back at the room early evening there had been no maid service (we needed towels replaced and garbage taken out) and had to call the front desk (also room phone didn't work). On our last night, in the middle of dinner on site, we received a call from engineering that we needed to move our car so they could get to an electric box. We had had a couple of drinks and didn't want to drive, and the car was parked in a designated space. Had to again see the front desk about this. Kind of ruined our last dinner of vacation. For what we received, I feel like Cheeca Lodge was quite overpriced.

We love Cheeca and will be back!! With all of the amenities you don’t have to leave the resort for anything. From the restaurants, spa, and water sports everything is top of the line!

Our family has been visiting Cheeca Lodge for nearly 25 years, and Jessica made this stay one of our most memorable. From assisting with our booking to arranging dinner reservations, she handled every detail with warmth, professionalism, and genuine care. The staff at Cheeca has always been wonderful, but Jessica is truly exceptional. In a time when great customer service can be hard to find, she made our family of five feel completely at home. By the end of our stay, she felt like part of our family. Thank you, Jessica, for making a special place even more special.

10/10 hotel! Don’t hesitate, book it! We went with our adult kids and enjoyed all the amenities. We would stay here again for sure!

Fun little golf course for family. Beautiful grounds. Don't expect to be severed beverages around the pool - odd for a property at this level (this was not the first visit with this problem)

We stayed here for my son’s birthday and I let the hotel know ahead of time. I also reminded them again at check in. There was not a single acknowledgment of his birthday during our entire stay. No balloon, no note, not even one kind word. My son ended up in tears, which was heartbreaking. The room was disgustingly dirty. The bathroom had mold and black buildup behind fixtures and in the corners, and there were dead bugs and signs of mold throughout the room. The lobby smelled strongly of sewage or toilet water, which made the whole place feel even worse. On top of all of that, my credit card was overcharged by $2,000. My credit card company cancelled the card because they thought it was fraud, which put a huge strain on our family during the trip. We were told the money and charges would be corrected within 24 hours, but it has now been two days and nothing has been returned. There has also been no real acknowledgment of the hotel’s mistakes or the stress they caused. This was supposed to be a special birthday trip for my son, and instead it turned into a terrible experience. If you want to suffer and be treated terribly, this is definitely the place to go.

We came here to celebrate our 25 wedding anniversary. We will not be staying here anytime soon. We stayed here in March at one of their 1 BR lock off rooms near the spa. We loved it and booked our anniversary trip. We checked in last Monday and were not able to relax at all until 10 pm Our internet was horrible. It was spotty. Worked inside, then didn’t. Worked outside then didn’t. That’s not a five star resort amenity. The seaweed smell was awful. Sewage and sulfur wrapped in one. They raked it to get it out, but I think this may have made it smell worse. Through all of the smell, we were sooooooooo happy to come back to our casita to find our Housekeeper kept the door open on the patio while she was cleaning. Took at least an hour to dissipate the smell of the rotting seaweed. Taylor and Elijah were our highlights of the trip. They were phenomenal. The only time we had the nice towels on the chairs at the pool were when Elijah was working. We appreciated him so very much, he is a true asset. Mr. Devine was not as engaged, and sadly service lacked when he was on duty. Also, if you do stay here, the house keeping staff waters down the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. This is holiday inn type stuff. I am thankful to Taylor for have upgrading us from a resort view casita to a beach casita, but this is not a true 5 star experience…at all. I wish I had the $10,000 back and stayed home.

Our room in the new building has a strong musty smell, and no one ever showed up (as promised) to address the issue. Disappointing since we have stayed here before, and never had a negative experience at all. Lots of good with this resort though. Just did not have the best experience this visit with the accommodations, or the value of what we had to pay for the first night of our visit.

Booked the premier king room- and it was great. Very comfortable room, pools are temp controlled, the pitch and put was fun!
