Cheeca Lodge & Spa

Been a minute since I have been to the keys. Lived there as a kid and always wanted to stay at Cheeca. Well let me say it didn't disappoint. Attention to detail was obvious. The grounds are impeccable and staff is wonderful. I also want to give a shout out to Anna Butler who absolutely made my stay with my family. She went out of her way from check in to check out to make sure I had the best stay possible. Truly made the trip. Thank you Anna. As far as the lodge goes lots to do and lots to see. Even though they were fairly full it did not seem crowded with plenty of space to roam. Food was amazing, drinks were great and the pier and pool were exceptional. great for families or couples. Also close enough to Hawks Cay if your fishing out of there which we did and daughter caught first Tarpon.

Lovely property with nice pool and many included activities (golf, tennis, pickleball, fishing rods) Very family-friendly. However, if you are looking for a beach experience, this is not the place. We found out May is the start of the seaweed "season" and the stench is very unpleasant, like sulphur/rotten egg, and almost unbearable to sit on beach. Plus, the seaweed is so thick that you cannot swim in the water along the hotel beach. Unfortunately, it was also too windy every day we were there (4 days) to take out any kayaks, paddle boards, etc. We had a nice expanded room (2 queens, pull out couch, large bathroom) which fit our family of 5. Walkable to a few shops and restaurants outside the resort if you want to venture out.

We had been to Cheeca before and had an oceanfront room. We decided to try the Lagoon View Waterfall room this time, thinking it would be nice to sit on the balcony and listen to the soothing sounds of the water....This was not to be. The pumps were on most of the time and very loud..... The ice machine in our building was turned "off" the entire stay and there was no ice in an adjacent building. We had to go to several other buildings to get ice. Overall nice resort though.....

The property as a whole is gorgeous - can't beat the view, the long dock, pool view, and lagoon area. Pleasantly surprised by the food options on property and the food staff was great! Our room was very clean and nice size for the price (stayed by the golf course with golf course view). These rooms certainly could use some upgrades (the beds were not very comfortable) but loved the peaceful view and it wasn't a long walk over to the beach area. Front desk staff was not overly friendly during our check-in or check-out process which was surprisingly given the 4-star hotel rating. The bellhop staff was great, and the service of shuttle rides within 1 mile of the property was a huge plus!! Pool was nice and the food staff there went above and beyond to take care of you. Highly recommend use of spa services - staff and spa were very clean and nice!

My husband and I just returned from 1 week at the Cheeca. We have been repeat customers of the Cheeca for roughly the past 10 years and the staff at the Cheeca did not fail to deliver a great experience. We had an issue with our room on the first night there and Jessica at the front desk went above and beyond to correct the situation. She gave us personal attention and made sure we felt appreciated as one would expect frequently returning guests should. It's the small things that matter and they did not go unnoticed this last trip. Highly recommend staying at the Cheeca if heading to Islamorada!

Rooms are nice, service way below the class of hotel they assert. Do not order from in-room dining. See pic of my $60 filet below. Not pictured, the flabby frozen pizza they also represented as, well, an actual pizza. Also housekeeping is a bit of a mess, getting your room cleaned is a true battle if you leave your room after noon.

Beautiful resort with lots to do. Fishing, golf, and pickleball was fun. A few pool areas to choose from. Central to so many great restaurants and bars in Islamorada. We will definitely be coming back again.

We wanted a resort experience where we would not have to leave and we found it at Cheeca Resort! The restaurants were superb! Waterfront dining, beach, pool, FREE kayaking/paddleboarding/fishing. Did the 1/2 day snorkeling from the pier! It was all very relaxing. We stayed in a bungalow and loved it (didn't want another "hotel stay" experience). We would definitely go again!

We stayed at Cheeca Lodge & Spa from May 8–11, 2026, and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The property is beautiful, relaxing, and everything we hoped for in a Florida Keys getaway. What truly made our stay exceptional was the outstanding service we received from Anna Tassia Butler at the Concierge/Front Desk and Flora at the bar. Anna was warm, professional, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay, making us feel genuinely welcomed from the moment we arrived. Flora was equally amazing — friendly, attentive, and made every visit to the bar enjoyable and memorable. Both went above and beyond to make our vacation special, and they are a huge reason we will gladly return. Thank you for such a fantastic experience — definitely a 5-star stay!
