The Sherwood Palm Hotel, Torquay Beach

Staff were very friendly, hotel is a bit of maze but aren't they all.. slightly dated but for the price and location it was fab! Bed was comfy, free parking which is a bonus. I'd come back again.

Avoid if you can. Not very clean at all. Check in at 4.30. Far too late. Requested a bath as it's on hotels.com they have baths. Was told at 4pm we had to come back they would try. Just said NO on our return. No hairdryer and the UHT milk was lumpy it was sooo old. Staff had minimum level of customer care. Garden was full of rubbish. This hotel needs help.

All about the experience in life was a good experience

Sherwood palm Hotel in Torquay. I booked through the hotels. com booking site. I want to make a complaint regarding my stay there. On arrival the female owner let us keep our bags there until check in later on. We arrived to check in at roughly 22.45pm. On arrival a man said we can't check in they are fully booked and are going to give us a refund, I had booked and paid for 2 nights and had confirmation for the room.  I had to beg for 45 mins to let us stay as we had nowhere else to go as this was paid for. Finally the man got a key and took us to a room it was messy and beds unmade but we said that's fine we need a room so will take it. Two beds were made for us. It ruined our mood for the rest of the night alot of stress.  The next day the female owner was there and I told her what happened, she apologised but nothing else came of this. I had two friends come who were booked in the same room with me and my other friend left they were fine with this as three people were paid for. I asked three times if they could make the beds and bring towels this never happened. We got back to our room in the evening with unmade beds no sheets, no towels no toilet paper. I had to ask for toilet paper. The shower was awful. They weren't around at check out the next day had to leave my key. I complained about the issues throughout visit and nothing was done to rectify this and it was an unenjoyable visit.One of the duvets were mouldy there was dust everywhere which set of my friends asthma

I paid less than £150 for a three night stay so whilst I would have liked to be in the Hilton I got exactly what I expected. Booking says air conditioning but this is actually a fan Booking says Wifi but only in shared areas not in room First room had a badly broken toilet, We where moved quickly into a suitable room This property is tired but we where happy that it was clean enough and beds comfortable. It was value for money and we where happy to stay!

A very basic (obviously reflected in the price) hotel. My room (number 30) had an open window with no lock (which was on the ground floor so not safe at all given I was a single female traveller). Outside my window was a total mess of huge weeds which was unsightly and wouldn't have taken a lot of effort to sort out. The layout of the hotel is literally like a maze with chairs and tables blocking other areas and many corridors and badly signed. We were also told we couldn't use the lounge area yet we saw other guests in there! Unless you want super cheap and basic I definitely wouldn't recommend staying here
