Hotel Retama Machupicchu

Comfortable beds, well-situated near the action but far enough so it's a restful evening. Breakfast is pretty basic but enough to prepare for your day. On our first day, they even called to make sure we didn't miss it. Reliable wifi and clean all around. Would recommend!

The staff was very helpful, but it was a bit noisy and there were quite a few bugs in my room, especially at night.

This hotel is the perfect place to stay while in Machu Picchu. Easy to find, good breakfast, nice garden

When we arrived late night there was no hot water. The staff worked diligently to get the issue fixed. This is a family run hotel where they take pride in providing a great stay for their guests. From meeting us at the station to preparing a sack breakfast for our early morning adventure to Machu Picchu the service was excellent. We spent two nights here and had a wonderful experience.

Hotel Retama is about half way up the hill in Agua Calliente. It is easy to find. As with all the hotels, there are lots of stairs. Make sure you request a room on the lower floors if you can't do stairs. The staff were great, and the breakfast was good. There were 10 in our group and we were able to go to Machu Picchu early in the morning, leave our bags there and have their staff deliver the bags to the train station. What a great service! It was very noisy at this hotel. It sounded like we were three doors down from a disco that didn't stop their music until around 4:00 am. We were told there was a celebration the night we stayed there for the anniversary of the village. So, not sure if it is that noisy normally.

The staff was friendly and the breakfast was decent enough to get you going before Machu Picchu. I was also a fan that it was incredibly close to the hot springs. To warn everybody, it is nearly at the top of the hill so if you're already exhausted, the uphill trek is rough. I also had a room that had a window facing a plaza so listening to people all through the night was unpleasant. The window was also not completely closed so bugs and mosquitos ate me alive throughout the night. The room was humid and hot

The people was very kind and helpful Elizabeth was super nice and accommodating. One of the best hostesses in town. The service was excellent, the breakfast was so delicious, and the costumer services was exepcional. The room are very clean and the bed is very comfortable.

The room has a piece of window missing! It was noisy at night. Also the shower drainage is blocked.

A hotel with lovely ambiance at the top of Machu Picchu Pueblo, near the river in a chilled spot. But more importantly, great staff, super friendly and helpful. Also, a great breakfast to get us up the mountain to Machu Picchu. Thanks Alicia, you were a star, all your sympathetic help was much appreciated.
