Hotel Retama Machupicchu

The facility was extremely clean , sheets were white and starched, the towels the same white and soft , smelled great too. The staff was polite and very accommodating especially "Alicia" from reception. Our host, chef 👨‍🍳 Marcos was delightful, offered a wide spread of buffet breakfast with fresh products, from fruits, vegetables and food. He introduced the local Peruvian delicacies with patience and enthusiasm that made you want to try ALL. My favorite was the Aguaimanto jam from the local fruit. Exotic teas locally produced were an afternoon treat to look forward to! Above all Marcos gave us information about attraction sites, services and safety. We enjoyed our stay, their hospitality and rich culture.

Toilet flusher was super jiggly and half broken, did feel that the staff was rushing us to get out/pay, they asked us to pay at like 8pm in the middle of our first day and kept reminding us about the check out time even though we said we would be checking out at that time. Wifi was also finicky and weak. Other than that staff was nice and friendly

Went to this hotel at the end of a 5D/N hike along the Salkantay trail. Was great to get a hot shower, and our room had a great view of the river and a large avocado tree. Long walk into town to get to it, but also a short walk to the hot springs. Breakfast was good and early, Marcos made sure everything was out quickly to get us ready for our hikes.

The staff were friendly but the breakfast was very minimal. Also the shower didn’t work most of the time. Additionally, no AC and the room was filled with flies and mosquitos prior to arrival due to all the windows being opened. It was very hot and humid in the room. You get what you pay for. In a good area tho.

The staff is excellent! Picked us up from the train station late at night and guided us to the hotel for check in and accommodation. The area is very safe and convenient location.

We loved how quiet and love the room was! The staff was also super helpful and polite. Highly recommended hotel.

Good location, staff members were very friendly and helpful during check in, and during the whole stay. Breakfast was good as well as the rooms and clean beds.

We had one twin room with 2 beds, and 1 double room with king bed. The twin room had no outside windows and were a bit dark during the day and small in size. The other room had a very nice view to the river outside though.

Good budget property - clean, but way too much fragrance in the rooms. Simple but nice breakfast. This is a no frills hotel and for the price it was fair. Travelers on a budget should consider staying. Travelers with greater means can find nicer.

There was a mixup and the manager was SO helpful. She immediately solved the issue and offered superb customer service. Breakfast OK, no eggs, but otherwise it was sufficient. The beds were comfortable, bathrooms clean.

I've stayed here 4 times, and will return.
