I recently stayed at Anasa Wellness Resort and, unfortunately, it wasn’t quite what I expected. The resort is extremely quiet—almost too quiet—which gave off a bit of a creepy vibe, making me feel isolated from the world. The location was also somewhat misleading, as it’s about a 37-minute drive from the center of Ella, not as close as I had hoped. This place might be ideal for those looking for total seclusion and a retreat from the hustle and bustle, but if you’re after a livelier atmosphere, it may not be the best fit. I’d say it caters more to an older crowd, probably 45 and above.

The accommodation and food at this hotel is exceptional. The standard of service is extremely high and staff are very attentive. Our room we could not find one fault and the cleanliness of the housekeeping team was amazing. The amenities available in the room were welcomed especially to sit out on the balcony overlooking the natural beauty of the environment with a morning cup of coffee was perfect. We stayed for 3 nights and ate breakfast and dinner in the restaurant and also ordered room service. All the food we ate was amazing and of a very high standard, any specific requests we made were accommodated. We used the swimming pool and ventured out on the hiking trail which was lovely. The hotel surroundings are beautiful with wildlife, peacocks and dear to look out for.

If I could pick this hotel up and move it 15/20 minutes closer to Ella then it would be perfect! However, it didn’t stop us doing everything we wanted to do in Ella but you do need to plan carefully your activities for the day. Navigating the road to the hotel in the dark can be tricky so I would advise to arrive on day 1 in the afternoon before it gets dark. There is signage but it’s difficult to spot in the dark. I would have also have liked the gym to be open earlier in the morning so that I could have worked out before breakfast and before heading out to Ella for the day. The gym did not open until 8am but this is a personal preference.

The hotel is one of the best but very hard to get there. We thought it is close to Ella but actually it is 40-45 minutes from Ella.

The location was very far from anything it is isolated and nothing around although the hotel was one of the best. The restaurant in the hotel is very good but very expensive and since it is isolated location there is no other option.
