The property is quite old and not well maintained.

The hotel in general it is quite worn out. The staff at the front desk with an attitude of least commitment or compromised and bad dressed. Mediocre restaurant and food offers.

The wife and I stayed here for three nights. Previous to our showing up, there had been some terrible rains, which left the parking structure flooded with several inches of water. During the second night we were there we parked on the second basement level and when we came out the next day to get into our car it was drenched with an oily water from a storm water drain line that had given way right above our car. Whatever was in the water stained and damaged the clearcoat and paint. Estimated damages exceeded $10,000. Although the management was very apologetic at the time I have been getting the run around from Corporate to get my vehicle fixed. Fingers are getting pointed one direction and then another with no one stepping up and just fixing the problem. The room may have been nice, but when your brand-new vehicle is facing a $10,00 repair bill it really overshadows what good there might have been.

The location was great. The bed was very comfortable and noise level of hotel was great.

The carpet was dirty and smelled musty. Carpets need to be shampooed. Water pressure from shower was not good, it was hard to pull out the handle to turn the shower on.

When we arrived, Lancelot assisted us at the front desk. He was kind and let us know that the room we had booked had one King sized bed and noticed that we were a family of three checking in. He was thoughtful and was able to change us to a room with two beds. We were forever grateful for Lancelot's thoughtfulness, intuition, and kindness. Everyone, including the people working in the Grille inside the hotel were SO kind. They were absolutely sweet to my family and made our meals easy and a great experience. The food was also very delicious! I hope we will get to visit again. Thank you, Lancelot for starting off our trip out on a positively amazing note!

Marissa at the front desk helped me out again today. I say again because I stay here every time I'm in town. Thanks, Marissa. I'll be back and I'll remember the cologne.

Had a single night stay due to a business meeting in Santa Ana. Checked in via the app and got an upgraded room with my Diamond status. I arrived and used my digital key to access the room. Room was about 84 degrees upon my arrival with the heat blowing full blast. I turned off the heat and opened the sliding door to cool down the room. It appears the thermostat was broken--if it was set to "Auto" it would just blow hot air no matter what the temperature. I just left the system off for the night. I did not want to deal with venturing out for food and checked out my options via the Hilton App. The app touted a $30 on site food and beverage credit and encouraged me to use it. I evaluated the options and decided to go with with room service--the "Chef's Curation Board" and butternut squash soup, about $58 after the sundry service and gratuity fees. I tried to direct dial room service from the in room phone, but it would not connect so I called the front desk and they connected me. Food arrived relatively promptly and I started with the soup which was bland but at least warm. Finishing that, I took the lid off the Curation Board, advertised to include Genoa Salami, Prosciutto, Pepperoni, Goat Cheese, Bleu Cheese, Cranberry, Grana Parmesan, Grain Mustard, Tomato Bacon Jam, Warm Flatbread--but there was no flatbread. Direct dial to room service did not work, so I called the front desk again. They apologized for the oversight and assured me it would be taken care of. 40 minutes later, there still was no bread so I called down again. The front desk was mystified that I had not received it and told me it would be taken care of. A few minutes later the phone rang--food and beverage manager calling. He stated no one told them that I did not receive the bread--this was the first he was learning of it. I told him to please just reverse the charge for the curation board--I would leave the tray outside. He apologized and assured me it would be taken off the bill. In the morning, I stopped to get coffee in the lobby--figuring I had some food and beverage credit remaining as the soup from the night prior was only $12. Upon checkout, I let the front desk know about the thermostat problem so they could address that before the next guest checked into the room. They apologized for the inconvenience and told me they would add a credit to my folio for the trouble. I told them it was not a big deal, but thanks for the credit. I asked for a paper receipt and was encouraged to check my email or the app for my folio. I explained that it often took a few days for a folio to appear in the app and that I really needed paper for my company expense reporting. A paper folio was printed for me and I made my way to my car. I glanced down at the paper bill and discovered the room service charges had not been reversed. I returned and spoke with the desk manager who looked into his system and say documentation about the prior evening issue, and assured me it would be taken care of and again apologized. It is now the next day. The folio has posted to my Hilton app. It has not been corrected. I called the Hotel this morning--it is too early for accounting to be in, but the person at the front desk wanted to try to help. They looked up the folio--I explained the situation. They can't help and will need to have accounting get back to me. All a big headache for what should have been a straightforward business stay. Now I have to untangle random charges and credits on my company card in a manner that will make sense to my bureaucratic corporate expense department. (Another annoyance--the room service charge appears as "Credit Card" $58.90 on the folio. This is going to be a headache for me to explain to accounting in that it is not described as in-room dining. Coffee in the morning was listed as "Bristol Brew.") There are many other options in and around South Coast Plaza. I don't think I will be back.

I recently spent 2 nights at the Hilton Costa Mesa & received excellent service at check-in from Pia! She was friendly & kind, she worked efficiently & asked questions about my preferences before assigning my room. Pia made a routine experience an enjoyable one!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding Service from Mayra at the Hilton I recently checked into the Hilton and discovered an issue in my bathroom. I went down to the front desk and showed Mayra the video of what was going on, and from that moment she went above and beyond to take care of me. Mayra is truly an amazing soul — warm, caring, and genuinely committed to making sure my son and I had the best stay possible. She handled the room issue immediately, took care of everything we needed, and even added some extra love to make our stay more comfortable. It’s rare to meet someone who treats guests with that level of compassion and professionalism. I truly appreciate her and want her to be recognized for the outstanding customer service she provided. Thank you, Mayra, for turning a stressful moment into a positive experience. You made our stay exceptional. ❤️
