Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort

If you love a hotel that hasn’t been updated in 20 years but the price has kept up with inflation, this is the hotel for you. The rooms have carpet, the bathrooms are from the 90s and so are the shower curtains. The TVs do not do any streaming. Two weeks ago I stayed at the Kimpton Canary for the same price per night and was extremely impressed with that hotel. Today I walked into the Santa Barbara Inn and had breakfast there. The rooms are slightly more expensive but I would say 1000% worth the extra. If your company is paying for the Hilton Beachfront you won’t feel offended. Just don’t expect any better room than you’d find at a Best Western in any valley or suburb.

Alexx was hands down the best. Extremely professional, kind, and went above and beyond to ensure my mother and I enjoyed our trip for mother's day. The bar manager Ty at The Set was incredibly funny, personable, knowledgeable, and amazing at making mixed drinks. The location and atmosphere of the grounds were absolutely stunning, the room was spacious and clean and you can either uber/lyft or drive yourself 10 minutes to downtown SB where there are tons of shops (everything from mainstream/chain shops to mom and pop spots). Every single staff member I interacted with was extremely friendly and helpful: from requesting more towels, to asking for assistance with a loose screen door (which the engineering staff quickly replaced in a matter of maybe 10 minutes), to the delicious cuisine both via room service and at the restaurants in the hotel, I am so glad I chose this city and hotel for our very first trip to California! Highly recommend this location if you visit Santa Barbara, and I especially reommend working with Alexx and grabbing a drink from Ty!

I have chosen this property because I am traveling with a parent with disability and I wanted to give them best experience even without going outside of the room. But due to fraudulent advertising photos used by this hotel in Booking.com my goal for a great experience actually turned into chaos.

It is using fraudulent photos. I booked a room facing ocean on a higher floor. But this property gave me a room on a ground floor instead where the view is more of the grass than the ocean! Also the manager that night refused to correct room arrangement and keeps on insisting that the room she gave us actually is correct! I showed her the photos used in the room that I booked and it is nowhere near to that level! I will not pay $650 for ground level view! This experience was a nightmare especially that I am traveling with a parent with disability! Fraudulent advertisement such as this should be penalized and should not be tolerated! Hotel manager was also disgustingly impolite to offer alternative but instead recommended to cancel our booking right away at around 10pm! Such a disgrace.

We had a great experience at the Hilton Santa Barbara Water front for our anniversary. When we checked in Alexx at the front desk helped make our stay special for our anniversary by comping our dinner and drinks. That really set the stage for our trip and helped make the whole weekend feel special. Thank you to Alexx and the entire Hilton SB team for giving us a wonderful anniversary weekend!

I stayed at the Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort to celebrate my first wedding anniversary without my husband after 23 years. He passed away from cancer in November of 2025. Planning and actually going on the trip was not easy. I shared why I was staying Santa Barbara with Aidyn when I checked in. He was attentive and welcoming. Later, I shared with Jamie, a bartender at the Set restaurant as well. Unbeknownst to my, she shared it with Michael, the night management. Michael then blessed me with beautiful accommodations for the remainder of my stay. Also, a special thank you to Cupid, Gary, Hannah, Ty. I cannot forget Sage for the wonderful massage at Float Spa as well. They all took exceptional care of me. Though my time was bittersweet, my stay was very nice. I will return. Hope to see them again.

I had a very disappointing experience at Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort. The air conditioning in our room (Room 419) did not work for two days, leaving the room uncomfortably hot. Despite multiple attempts to reach the front desk via phone, chat, and in person, there was little to no response during the day. We were repeatedly assured that the issue would be addressed. At one point, we were told a technician would arrive within 30 minutes and that we would be moved if the issue was confirmed. No one showed up, and there was no follow-up. Earlier promises of a room change were also not honored, and we were eventually told that no maintenance staff was available and no room move was possible. To make matters worse, the AC unit made loud rattling noises at night, which significantly disrupted our sleep. We were traveling with two small children, which made the situation even more uncomfortable. I also escalated the issue by emailing the hotel manager, but did not receive any response. This was not just a maintenance issue—it was a clear failure in responsiveness, communication, follow-through, and management accountability. Very disappointing for a property of this level.

The location was amazing. It was close to the beach and in walking distance to everything including wharf. The property had fun amenities like a huge chess board, restaurants, gift shop, and pool.

The location was amazing but the hotel itself needed some TLC. There was a leak in the ceiling of our room, and what appeared to be mold in the ceiling tiles of the bathroom area. A big spot of leaked paint was in the bathroom, as well as other marks. The carpets in the room were filthy and stained. The shower curtain had stains, and the baseboards and floors looked dirty as well. The pool and jacuzzi were beautiful, but it smelled bad. The breakfast was sub-par - the eggs tasteless and watery. The other restaurant gave me a side salad with zero dressing and brown lettuce. For $1,000 a night I expected it to be much better quality.
