Hampton Inn Birmingham/Mountain Brook

The location was perfect, not far from the venue and not far from the main highway. Also, right next to a bunch of shops.

It was busy and there was only one person to accommodate everyone. We were put in a room that had repairs going on from a leak in the ceiling. We had to get moved to a room with a pull out couch, which was all they had left (I paid for 2 full beds). The gentleman said he would credit me back $75 for the inconvenience. We couldn’t set the couch up before we left because it would take up the room. There was no toilet paper and only 2 towels (there was 3 of us). When we got back after the venue, the room key didn’t work. Had to go get another one, that one didn’t work either (going back and forth from the 5th floor to the 1st a total of 3 times). Had to sit on the floor outside the room and wait for the staff to come open the door for us (it was 1am). Still no toilet paper or an extra towel was put in the room (we made a request before leaving out). Then we tried to put together the pull out couch. The mattress still had the shipping plastic on it. We had to remove that. Next morning we went to leave and I wanted to make sure I get a receipt that shows the $75 credit. The man was very nice and said he wasn’t going to charge us for the room. Got the receipt that shows a 0 balance. Tried to get my money back from booking.com. They call the property to verify the information. The manager tells them that I’m still being charged full price for the room. I will not use booking.com again or stay at a Hampton Inn again. I paid over $200 for the room, stayed in it all of 6 hours and they couldn’t even put the toilet paper in the room. The location was great though, only a 13 minute ride to the venue. And the gentleman working the front desk when we checked in was nice, just bounced us around from rooms and still charged me full price despite offering me even just the credit.

It’s ready for an update. Terry at the front desk was great. The elevators need cleaning and air fresheners very bad.

I liked when the rooms worked, they’re comfortable. I liked the breakfast.I liked the night shift worker.

The air conditioning didn’t work in my first room, then I had to go up and down the entire hotel going from the front desk to try new hotel rooms and every door didn’t work. I ended up laying down in the lobby while the night shift worked out how to get me a bed.

very gross, don’t think the room was cleaned beforehand
