Residence Inn Boca Raton

Currently awaiting response from Marriott regarding recent stay of 2 weeks in which I did not have a working key to my room for 7 days. During that time I had to be accompanied by the desk staff to my room every time I left it for breakfast, gym, or to do laundry. I have requested some compensation for this inconvenience but have not heard anything yet. Perhaps you can help.

When we checked in we were informed that the electronic key system was broken for the entire property and not expected to be working for many days. The only way to gain access to the room was to go to the front desk and be escorted to the room so the hotel could open it. That alone was more than enough reason to leave but it was late at night and we had no options. The room itself was terrible. The carpeting was in very poor condition, the air conditioning did not work and the bathroom was not clean. We expect more from Marriott hotels and this turned us off the the Residence Inn brand.

It was a good routine stay until the morning when there was no hot water in the shower. And worse, there was nothing to be done to correct the situation.

25 year Titanium or higher Marriott traveler here. Booked a room for my wife and daughter all I can say is DO NOT STAY AT THIS PROPERTY!! Short and sweet: They had to wear flip flops the entire time the room floors were so filthy Cockroaches in the room, know it’s Florida but…. No clean towels for 3 days, they were told an Asian man had hoarded them all, just can’t make that up No room cleaning fir three days despite housekeeping staff being on site Broken door locks At this point who cares but unreliable internet Attempted to address this with management, poor response at best hence the post. So long and short of it DO NOT STAY HERE!!

We were told after we paid for our stay at check in that no key cards could be issued to our stay because their key card machine was down. We were told that it would be fixed the next day and receive our keys then. We checked in on Friday and checked out on Wednesday. The key card machine was down for the entirety of our stay and the front desk staff had to let us into our room EVERY TIME! It was extremely inconvenient. We asked to speak with the manager and they never showed or met with us. We had to wait up to 30mins at a time to gain access to our room as front desk staff was away from the desk. We were lied to by the staff each day regarding the issue and honestly this issue ruined our stay completely.

For $500 a night which is what I paid on 2/7/2025. Just to have the staff to walk us to our room because the key system was down the entire weekend. So all day and night in order to get access to room we had to go to the front desk so someone could let us in our room. The upstairs shower was cold and tv didn’t work. The latch on the outside door was broken that made my wife very uncomfortable. Just a complete disaster!! It’s definitely a one star hotel

Room smelled musty and moldy and the internet didn’t work anywhere on the property. It wasn’t “out” it was just spotty wifi everywhere. We ended up checking out early to find a hotel with better accommodations.

The layout of the hotel is great and offers a lot of privacy. We enjoyed the bonus breakfast in the morning as well! Staff was friendly and helpful.
