The Godfrey Hotel & Cabanas Tampa

Get the waterside view. City view is the parking lot. Drinks are expensive and weak - bring your own or go to the restaurant off the property. Bathtub was clogged and water pressure in the sink was poor. Notwithstanding ANY of that, it is a GREAT stay! The rooms are nicely done - the balcony is just enough space and the water view is perfect. Staff is nice!

Our room was unclean, a dirty sock was on the floor in our bathroom, they messed up my reservation and gave me a two queen instead of a king. If you are in a room facing the parking lot it will be incredibly loud at night almost impossible to sleep. Trash was left on the floor, everything was dusty and smelly. You can hear absolutely everything from the corridors and other rooms. It smelled of weed and alcohol. So dirty and dingy I would never come back.

hotel location is great. Beatiful view right on water, lots to do - jet ski, etc. Great pools with music, restaurant food is good.

This property is filthy.. balcony door did not open.. all chairs .. bed have stains and mold .. I should be refunded

I’ve stayed there before a few times when the name of the hotel was under a different name so there have been some changes. I’ll start with the good. Parking is simple. The water view of Tampa bay is breathtaking. You have to stay in a room w the water view hands down. Rooms are nice, all with private balconies. Cleanliness was fine. Its a cashless facility, cards only. There used to be a volley ball court in sand there but they changed it to a really nice pool. There’s cabanas everywhere outside as well, and two really great bars. There’s an indoor seating area for the restaurant or you can order outside from the bar, but there is no room service or even deliver to your room. 20% gratuity is automatically added to all bills for drinks and food so don’t forget! I never got up for breakfast so I can’t vouch for that. There’s a mini market there next to the front desk for items. Checking in and out was easy. It’s super quiet during the week which is what I wanted but I hear it gets crazy on the weekends if that’s what you’re into. It really is a great place overall and I will stay there again. It’s one of my favorite stayca spots for sure. But always, always with the water view. Absolutely gorgeous and relaxing!!!

The first room had a roach. The second room was full of bugs. The hallways stink. The condition of the room are worse than motel 6. The restaurant hours are wack. No gift shop, no vending machines at all. Just overall horrible. DO NOT STAY HERE

"I will never return!!! The staff attempted to be polite (good poker face). My room was as dirty as #3//, with hair, bugs, and unidentified substances on the side of the box spring, among other things. My husband pulled out the nightstand and OMG... I had to clean the bathroom and wipe down the surfaces with Clorox wipes. Additionally, the WTR restaurant and bar automatically add a 20% gratuity, which seems excessive. If you enjoy going to a dirty, overpriced establishment, then this is the place for you. However, as for me and my husband, we will NEVER EVER return!!!!"

This place was horrible! It was filthy dirty. The lobby is so deceiving it looks nice and clean as soon as you step off the elevator on the the floors with rooms it’s disgusting! The carpet, the furniture, the showers everything! We had to make do for 2 night but I advise NO ONE to ever stay here!

The staff was great! From check-in, throughout on stay & Check-out. The front desk & housekeeping crew were all helpful & extremely pleasant. They changed my experience completely. The accessibility to restaurants & events was perfect...and we saw a dolphin from our room!

Much older than pictured. You could smell medical marijuana every time you went out on your balcony.
