Lovely location by the river. Good food at both dinner and breakfast. Good Wi-Fi.

Disappointing room experience. Broken TV which couldn't be fixed / both blinds falling off and couldn't be raised. Was told we'd be contacted to move rooms but never happened. Told we would receive compensation but nothing offered on checkout as it was a different member of staff who knew nothing about it. Also, overheard staff complaining to each other about a guest who'd raised an issue about service at breakfast - never comfortable to hear that.

Lovely location by the river not far from Ludlow. Great food, nice staff, clean rooms and easy parking.

Staff seemed a bit under pressure in the morning - there was an event in which meant breakfast service was a touch slow. But they were very kind and helpful.

Myself and my son stayed at The Lion on 26/06/2025 ahead of our day at Phil Price Rally School, we arrived around 19,30pm and was instantly greeted by a lovely lady who checked us in and sat us down to get us drinks and take food orders etc, we were extremely well looked after and the food was out of this world, the lady in question and the rest of the staff were extremely accommodating and pleasant. We had a great nights sleep in a lovely clean room and the next morning just when we thought it couldn't get any better we were served possibly the best breakfast I have ever received in a hotel. This place is truly a hidden gem and we will return without a doubt.
