"Fantastic vacation"

10.0

The hotel was excellent, staff were helpful and friendly. The choice of food was outstanding. The rooms were decorated tastefully with plenty of storage. There was a large pool and a with a swim up bar and easy access to the beach. The entertainment team were brilliant, great fun was had with the daytime activities which enabled us to meet some lovely people. Also the team ran the evening entertainment,we kept them busy with music requests. Nothing was too much bother which we really appreciated. Will definitely return.

"Amazing hotel and entertainment staff"

10.0

The best hotel I have ever stayed in!! We have had the most amazing time. We stayed for 2 weeks. On arrival we were greeted at reception, checked in and had our luggage taken upstairs to the 5th floor for us. The staff have all been extremely helpful and polite. If we needed to ask a question such as where is the bus stop or the free bus to the aqua park they were more than happy to help and even allowed us to take a picture of the bus routes. The food was perfect, plenty to choose from. They also do an Italian night, Asian night and Balkan night each week. I would like to say a massive thank you to the entertainment staff Ventsi, Kristi and Eli who since day one have made us feel so welcome. They all have gone above and beyond to keep us entertained throughout the day and evening. This includes playing darts, aqua aerobics, shuffleboard and boccia. This then follows with evening entertainment. We even went to dreams which I believe is the sister hotel and watched all the entertainment staff do their own show which was amazing and added a personal touch! There English is amazing and they also spoke 3 different languages fluently to make everyone feel welcome. I can 100% say that they are an asset to this hotel and our experience wouldn’t have been the same without them. The room was amazing! Super clean and the bed was so comfy! We had our room cleaned every day, the cleaning staff were very friendly and we felt super safe allowing them into our room when we were at the pool. The room comes with a safe which you set your own code which is very reassuring. The waitresses and waiters were also extremely helpful. They even got to know our drinks so we didn’t have to ask and refilled them without waiting. Super fast service!

"Perfect relaxing stay, didnt want to leave"

10.0

My husband and I have recently returned from 2 wonderful weeks at Secrets Sunny Beach, we had a wonderful large suite on the 12th floor, which our fabulous maid kept spotlessly clean and provided fun novelty towel designs. Massive comfy bed and mini bar replenished daily. Our view was stunning. We choose the preferred club and had no complaints. I would say the club lounge was a little dark and maybe needed more comfy seating rather than several tables and chairs, so more like a snug, as it felt a little office canteen like, we also thought the seating area for preferred should be larger for breakfast and evening meal and our service for drinks at breakfast was very hit and miss. The staff were all lovely and we never had any issues with the food being cold. Lots of variety and options at all times. We also ate at the two alternative restaurants and have to say the food was fabulous as was the service and booking simple. The pools were all kept clean and while cold " ok once your in" in fact lovely when hot! as we left the hotel become more busy, more staff arrived and a few extra things appeared, like the additional fridges at pool side. We were happy with the pool bar however can see why extra facilities could be needed as the hotel become busier. The waitress in the entertainment lounge was great, keeping drinks topped up. Overall we had no complaints and would return without hesitation.

"Lovely hotel"

10.0

Stayed in May first time here. The hotel, staff and food were exceptional couldn’t fault anything apart from The Preferred Club, it is a bit of a rip off. The Club lounge was ok but at one point we went in at night and the optics were empty it’s nothing great. Our minibar in our room did not fully stock premium spirits. You pay extra to get VIP service as such but it was a farce at the Preferred pool area, anybody could go in due to the fact orange towels are issued with your bag on arrival but once they were put for wash you were given brown towels the same as all hotel guests so in my opinion it’s wasn’t really worth the extra money. The orange towels were to differ you from other guests, we did ask at reception but told no more as they were waiting on an order for them coming in 🤪🤪🤪. On the flip side we got our room 1113 free all day upon our last day, so thank you it was very much appreciated. All in all this hotel was amazing and we are avid travellers staying in quite high end hotels throughout the year and place this hotel on a high rating. The beach was beautiful although we didn’t use it.

"Fantastic week away"

10.0

Returning for a second year, another fabulous stay here, we had a suite on the 13th floor, spectacular views over sunny Beach day and night. We stayed preferred, lots of people saying it’s not worth it but we like it. Huge choice of food again, something for everyone you won’t starve. Entertainment has hugely improved from last year. We found all the staff very friendly, Marie is the swim up pool lifeguard, speak to her she is such a lovely girl. Malibu is available but you have to pay for it.🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ Spoke to the manager and the guest relations manager, so refreshing to see them talking to guests. The lifts are a pain when they are out of service, usually all working by the end of the day. The staff work really hard to maintain the high standard of the hotel, good morning and please and thank you go a long way, manners cost nothing be polite. Late checkout, you have your Room until 11 am reception will take care of your luggage. This is in a locked room, showers available in the ladies and gents toilets in reception, the water was freezing. I did tell the manager and he was going to address this. Another fantastic day here and we will be returning for a third year running next year. Thank you to everybody at secrets for giving us a fantastic holiday.

"Very Good value for money!"

8.0

We were looking for a week long break, somewhere different - we wanted a good hotel , shortish flight time and transfer time. We had stayed at a couple of Secrets hotels in the past - Mexico Maroma and more recently Secrets in Lanzarote -so we knew the brand is good. Friends mentioned that the resort Sunny Beach is very Benidorm style - so we set our expectations lower than normal. Good flight times and a 40min transfer - Secrets is at the North end of Sunny Beach - so it teds to be the last drop off. First impressions were very good - the hotel - obviously had been a RIU Palace in the past as it resembles most of the RIU Palace hotels. It sits in lovely grounds next to its sister hotel 'Dreams' which is for families. We had gone for the Preferred Option - and in our view its worth it for the room - which is larger and has a lovely balcony. We were on the 10th floor so had great views across the bay, the resort and we could see the old town of Nessebar across the bay. As mentioned rooms are huge - massive bed, nice sofa and a well stocked minibar - beers / gin / soda etc...The bathroom is well equipped, nice shower - and a separate toilet. Plenty of hanging space, bathrobes and shelves. There are a couple of USB ports - but I would advise you to take some adapters. All floors are served by 4 lifts - often one or two are out. We noted that the lifts are often full by the time it gets to floor 4 or 5 - so this often means a wait for some. Staff service is exceptional - both for drinks and food - we never had a long wait to be served and all the staff are friendly and helpful. Staff around the pool were also very helpful- cool flannels were often brought around. The Pool bar was fun with Constantine mixing some excellent drinks whilst doing his Tom Cruise 'Cocktail' displays! Being a swimmer - I loved the 50m swimming pool - it was cold but very clean. The sunbeds are plenty and we never had a problem finding somewhere to sit- there is a 'Preferred area' but we chose not to use it as the wifi was poor there. (The wifi is actually quite good in general). Food in the restaurants is plentiful and well cooked - we were impressed with the hygiene and cleaning and never felt worried about food choice. Another good point re the 'Preferred' Club is the outside seating area for the main restaurant- with great views across the bay. We were always approached by staff as soon as we sat down to ask if we wanted anything to drink - also no issues with getting a refill! We did try several of the 'a la carte restaurants. Note there is Seafood Oceania, an Italian 'Portofino' and another grill set in a separate building 50m away 'Seaside Grill'. Oceania was our favourite - there is a menu with several choices at the a la cartes - often the starter course is a buffet with the main and sweet being served to your table. (Oceania was the exception with all 3 served at your table). The Seaside Grill is an option for lunch for Preferred Guests - but we found it too noisy as its shared with Dreams and lots of children present. However on a night time we were pleasantly surprised that they put the Secrets guests in one room and the Dreams in another - which worked well! You can also use the a la carte restaurants in Dreams - they had a traditional Bulgarian and an Asian. We did try the Asian 'Himatsu' and enjoyed the experience. One major point is booking the restaurants - you need to speak to a Matre 'D' in the Buffet to book them. Its a chaotic system - they do everything by paper and you are given a chit with the day and time of your booking for each restaurant. We queried why they don't use the app - which is available but not used for anything for the hotel? (Not even the day/evening entertainment - you had to check boards every day). The paper based system appears to limit the number of spaces available - we were surprised at the number of spare tables at each of the 'a la cartes'. It appears there paper based system starts on a Sunday - so get your choices booked quick! (We were lucky we arrived on Monday - we did hear others that arrived later had issues getting tables). Also there are 2 sittings for the a la cartes at 6:30 and 8:30pm for Secrets and at 6:00 and 8:00pm in Dreams. Plenty of choice of drinks - local beer is good and the house wine is a good drink - Metaxa is the main brandy - no Jack Daniels - but Jim Beam was fine! You could help yourself to beer /coke etc around the pool and there is a couple of fridges in the preferred area full of beer / Coke /Water Evening entertainment was OK - some singers, a magician, an electric cello player, a music quiz, a Latin dance act and a DJ night (I think they should work on their playlist - a bit of Mowtown would have been good!). The Preferred club lounge did not get used much - but we often popped in there for an evening drink or to get some milk for our room. Its well stocked with drinks and snacks and there is enough for a light breakfast on a morning. We did venture out and took the local bus, which stops outside the hotel, to Nessebar 3 Lev each way and an interesting experience. We talked to others who took a taxi from the hotel at a cost of 40lev. Nessebar is well worth a visit! Overall the hotel is good and exceeded our expectations. Its not as good as other Secrets - but value for money is very very good. Cleanliness, hygiene and staff service are all good. A nice place for a week away!

"Hotel is great, area not so great"

8.0

This Hotel is generally very good and met most of my expectations. It is very clean and the staff are very helpful. The pool and outside area is lovely and the beach is ok although very shelly. The is a small problem with seagulls divebombing the outside areas of the restuarant and the staff seem to be quick to shoo them away and clean up after them. The food is good in the general restaurant with a great selection of hot and cold food and desserts available. Be careful where you sit if you are non smokers because despite signage the guests smoke wherever they like! We booked for the Portofino restaurent but wasn't any better or worse than the food which is served for everyone, so nothing special. The Preferred Option isn't really worth paying for because there isn't a wrist band system in operation and the staff don't ask therefore treating everyone equally. The Preferred Club Lounge wasn't being used much because the service is so good generally that it wasn't needed. It might be used more in peak season when the staff are under more pressure but we found that if anything, the Hotel is overstaffed. Lift service is adequate if all 4 lifts are in operation but if not there can be lengthy waits. We had a lovely massage to start the holiday and it was reasonably priced too. We walked up the beach to the left which was lovely and then into Sunny Beach resort center once which was not for us so we stayed in our luxury hotel! Our stay was for 7 nights which was plenty! We had flight delays leaving and returning which apparently is to be expected and the airport and Duty Free area is very small! The Bulgarians like you to attempt their language so it was nice to see their appreciation when we used Blagodayra which is thank you (some use Merci but it is not as nice).

"Great Relaxing holiday"

10.0

Just returned from a 7 day holiday with friends at this hotel. It is a fabulous hotel with the biggest swimming pool I have ever seen. The areas surrounding the pool have so many sun loungers you didn’t have to get up early to secure one. The swim up bar was lovely and the waiters there so good with the cocktails you ordered always remembered your drink. The rooms are lovely and big, the bed was lovely and comfortable and very large. The views from Balcony are amazing. Our room was spotless all the time. The hotel is so clean and every area is immaculate and the food delicious in all restaurants. I would suggest more tables and chairs in the swim up area as really a nice place to sit and have an afternoon drink and views so lovely and only 4 tables there. We were on the 4th floor and didn’t use the lifts to go down but they did take ages when trying to go back to room later in day as so busy. The only other thing that I think needs to be looked into is the coffee machines and toaster in dining room as the queues were Long every morning. They either need another coffee machine and toaster or waitress service for your drinks at breakfast. It truly is a lovely hotel in a fabulous location well away from Sunny Beach but you can easily walk into if you want to. Nessebar is a must for a visit you can either get a bus or taxi such a lovely place. I would really recommend this hotel for a nice relaxing break. We were preferred guests but don’t think you need to pay the extra as all facilities were great.

"Special Holiday"

6.0

We visited this hotel for a duel celebration of retirement and birthday In appearance a lovely hotel We had a great room The food is delicious The hotel and pools are also lovely We had two major issues We paid for The Preferred Club this was a complete expensive rip off But the biggest issue of all is SMOKING There are signs identifying smoking areas but these are ignored by guests and staff People smoke besides you while you eat One evening a group of management staff moved no smoking signs to include all of the external terraces so they could socialise Only go here if you want to holiday in an ashtray

"Secrets Hotel, Sunny beach, Bulgaria."

10.0

Secrets was an amazing hotel, spotlessly clean, staff so friendly and caring, couldn't do enough for us. Food was good, pools and beach were great, plenty of sun loungers for everyone. The hotel was in the more quieter area which suited us, but everything was within walking distance and local buses were great, and cheap. Couple of niggles, nothing major, but the plates in the restaurant were always cold, wished they were warm before you put your food on. And sun loungers were very hard so take extra padding if needed. But ... We loved it there.
