Rocklea Guest House

The property has a lovely garden with a steam next door so we could hear and see the stream from our room which was lovely. Breakfast was fantastic.

The hosts we very kind and friendly. We had a late start leaving London due to a dead car battery, and they were very accommodating to receive us after midnight. We did esly morning hiking and came back to sleep in the middle of the day, then out again in the afternoon for more sightseeing and sunset viewing, causing us to come and go at late hours. The guest house was quiet and easy to quietly get in and out (fortunately, our room was by the main entrance).

Can't think of anything that could be improved. The hosts really go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect for their guests.

Everything was great just what we wanted and more. The host Chris and liz were wonderful. Room was wonderful and comfortable clean plenty of room. Breakfast was great to.

Room was light and very clean. Lovely outlook over the stream directly outside the hotel. Bed was super comfy and the living area was a nice touch to sit and relax after a long walk. Chris and Liz the hosts were very attentive and very helpful, in pointing out things to do/see and best way to get there. Breakfast was fresh with a good choice everyday, including cereals/juice/cooked breakfast/eggs/toast/coffee or tea. Location was perfect, quiet and off the main routes but only 5 minutes up the road you are in Windermere centre. 10 minutes the other way you are in the centre of Bowness.

Liz and Chris are fantastic hosts, Very helpful with knowledge of the area and things to do and see.Gave a map of the Lakes with points of interest.

Nothing not to like.

Room on ground floor , small but clean. Breakfast made to order very nice. If you have no car but have luggage you will need to get a taxi to train station. Fairly walkable and local buses take you to the next towns (which are super busy traffic much heavier than I imagined ) to browse around with quite pleasant views on the way. Chris and Chris very friendly. Local pub across the road from Rocklea is the "Brookside" very convenient, old but serves lovely meals. Staff friendly.
