OYO Silver Spur Burns Hwy 20

If you need a quick overnight stop at a no-frills location this is a good one for that. The owner/manager is amazing! She went out of her way to make sure she helped us with everything we needed. Honestly, the property is quite run-down, but for the price it’s just fine for a night. Book directly through OYO though so you can get all the discounts.

I’ve been here a few times over the last 15 years or so and if I’m traveling solo through the area, the Silver Spur is where I stay. And that will continue to be true for the next time I’m in Burns, I hope. That said, the Silver Spur is showing its age. The outside looks really sketchy and like it is falling apart. The parking lot is rough. But inside, the rooms are still the basic clean and comfortable budget place they’ve always been. I’m really hoping OYO can put some money into this place and bring it back to the nice budget place it once was. They can start by getting rid of the junk that is scattered on the property, including in the lobby. Get rid of that sketchy feel I mentioned above because it didn’t seem like a sketchy place. I met several of the other guests and all were nice people. Another quick improvement would be to improve the lighting inside the rooms. My room had one overhead bulb that was barely putting out any light. OYO, please invest in the place and turn it around before it is too late. Burns needs a good budget alternative.

Not in good condition.

Hotel was under renovations so almost didn’t get my booking secured. The workers doing the renovations were in the way and didn’t seem to work hard, but the front desk workers worked hard to get us a room. Room was a bit messy and dirty but the gesture was appreciated.

The property was under remodeling so it was a bit messy but the room was fine although not yet remodeled. I did not like the tight parking but made it work. There was not a staff member in the office at check in but came right over when we called the number on the door. The person was super nice and waived the pet fee due to the construction and our room not yet remodeled.

I guess I should have read the reviews before I booked my room. The place was exactly how it has been described in other reviews. Meaning, as soon as you show up, I guess my first thought was that I was at a salvage yard. Lots of old vehicles outside that some seemed may not be running. There were mattresses, leaning up against the handrails on the second floor and some plywood nailed to the handrails. It appeared to me that they were trying to hide something behind the plywood. The bed seem to be clean, but there were stains on the sheets and holes in the sheets . The toilet ran all night because the seals are worn out. Doesn’t look like it was upgraded since the mid 80s I would presume. Mold in the showers. Beds were old and very noisy. It appeared that there were people living there in the other rooms , and seem to be a little sketchy to me. Glad I was only staying for one night.

Not how it was advertise!!! This motel is a FIXER UPPER at best. Not like the pictures I think they are trying to fix it up.

This is not a high end motel, not by a long shot. But based on how much I paid, I would say the value is excellent. I appreciate having reasonably priced accommodations available. Thanks!

We couldnt get ahold of anyone called the number on the paper that was on the office door no answer left a text message no reply rang a doorbell no reply had to go to another hotel for the night whole town was booked had to drive 2 hours down the road to bend Oregon. I feel that we should not have to pay anything for the stay because nobody was there dirty mattresses everywhere broken down vehicles and the main off was locked and full of garbage.
