Split Rock Resort

Not sure what is happening here, middle of summer and completely dead. Lake closed in the middle of summer, limited events. Has definitely seen better times

Staff very nice, room clean and large, easy check in. No towels, Coffee Maker broken (leaked out water). No dining available, only take out items from lobby. Looks like full service only on the weekends.

The room was not appropriately clean. I could not get the tv work and I had to call to find out how to operate the shades. There were stains on the white bedding and there was a dirty throw pillow on the bed. The bedside table was sticky. I was on the 4th floor and the location was in a remote building. There was no security to get in the building, which did not make me feel safe. There was a bunch of trash in the parking lot. The building did not have a pleasant smell. Not worth the money that I spent.

This property was top-notch in its prime, but that is since passed and the facility is in desperate need of renovation. The waterpark and on-site restaurants are only open on the weekends. Maid services only when you check out. The outdoor and indoor pools were in good shape. The field house was OK. The theater movies were 20 years old the bowling alley in arcade. We’re in good shape. The fitness center was also very nice. Staff did the best they could but I felt sorry for them having to try to explain why things weren’t up to expectations by the website. Everyone was nice and when asked, they did attend to requests.

They no longer offer pots and pans or any dishes if you’re not a timeshare holder which isn’t listed on the website. There’s a water advisory going on which wasn’t stated on their website either and on their poster it says “boil water before use” but how can you do that if there’s no dishes. The towels were dirty form the water because the water was yellow. My aunt room had a smell of a dead rodent which they did nothing about not even offer to move her. Every year we stay here there’s always something going on that’s never on their website but they still let you book. My family and I have been going here for 30 plus years and it’s goin down hill.

Where do I start. Let's start with the hotel. The place was clean and the room where very nice. No problems with the room. Good spacing and very clean.Staff was great. Very helpful and tried to handle any problems immediately. We didn't go to the restaurants but use the food court. A little pricey but the stuff on the menu was good except the pizza. Do not get the pizza. The dough is horrible and overwhelmed with mozzarella cheese. Kids took one bite and said they didn't like it. That was the only thing i really didn't like and the fact the the wifi didn't work good. it kept going in and out and the TV's wouldn't connect. As far as the stiff the facility offered. That's where the problems begin. The water park was half opened because of maintenance. It was the main rides like the big bucket area and the 2 out of the 3 slides. Made no sense to even go. The hotel pool was nice but the hot tube needs maintenance. Bubbles barely working and the concrete was falling apart. Everything else was good. The movies, bowling, arcade, basketball courts and bingo were fun. The place is old and certain things need to be updated but I did enjoy my stay. I would go again but I will call ahead of my cancelation date to find out what's down and what's not available.

I stress if you are going here to call & see of the Water park is open the day that you go. We went on a Mon & Tuesday. Apparently, those days there is no waterpark or open restaurant at the resort. Many places in area close by 10pm, we had to settle for fast food 1st night. NO WATERPARK so disappointed. No info about that on the website or here. We arrived & the young man that checked us in placed us so far away even though he said the place was empty. The room was pleasantly clean inside. NO HOT WATER. Electrical outlets for charging anything that we had were not functioning. Finally found 1 that worked. I told Christine at the front desk at 7:30am that there was NO HOT water. She said no one else complained. I said NO ONE else is occupying rooms near us. You can tell because rooms doors are ajar for cleaning. ALL empty. I also asked for more towels & tp. NOPE. Never got them. When we left at 1pm the maint. man was repairing the hot water heater. I asked if it was in need of repair & he said YES. Christine was wrong. I actually went to the front desk 3 times but no one came until we had to check out. I saw a maid & she spoke no english. I motioned for towels/tp & she motioned to go to the front desk. Umm, I already did. The hot tub jets did not work. Pool needed to be cleaned. I did it. Mini fridge held barely anything or kept it cold. Wish they updated the place because it is so cool. Enjoyed Movie, Bowling & game room. Wish they Updated. I have so many ideas. Contact me.

First off nowhere does it say there are eight different buildings to this resort. I book this thinking I was going to be right on the lake with all the amenities right there. No, I was put in building five the room is not equipped with a coffee pot, cookware, paper towels, soap, no blow dryer, no garbage pail in the bathroom. The junior suites are very spacious and can hold a good amount of people I got locked out of my room the second night as my key would not work and had to call the front desk. Nobody came for 20 minutes and I had to call the front desk and tell them their resort is a sh.t show. Their response to me was we know.😳 clearly the website for the resort is not updated as the bar in the check-in hotel does not serve food. And come to find out that nobody should’ve been swimming in the lake as it had bacteria they should’ve said something to their guests thank God I did not swim in the lake. This is a very budget friendly resort that needs a lot of updating.

There was no hot water and no one responded to the complaint till we checked out.
