Econo Lodge Downtown

When we checked in there was a surprise $100 "cash only" deposit required that wasn't mentioned on website. There was a hand written notice about it posted on the window of the lobby saying it was effective since June 2023, so they've had plenty of time to update online. We checked in, dropped our bags off in the room, and went to dinner. When we came back we noticed graffiti on the vanity mirror. While we were getting ready to sleep, we discovered roaches around the bed and even on the pillows. We called the front desk from the room phone 3 times, and got voice mail each time. During that call time we also discovered ants, and some sort of beetles in the bathroom and vanity areas. We decided to cancel our reservation and go to a different hotel. We received our cash deposit back, but they have refused to refund the money for our 4 night stay, (which they charged our card for the full stay at check in), even though we were only there for a few hours of the 1st night. We attempted to work this out with management, but they've refused to do the right thing. This was our 1st saty in SLC, & not a good 1st impression. DO NOT STAY AT THIS MOTEL.

When I checked in, I knew it wasn't going to go well. The attention Behind the windows, I entered the room, it had a horrible smell, untidy, there were dirty things. If it weren't for the fact that I only needed one night to sleep, I would have left immediately. The room apparently had a water leak since the carpet was wet, which I noticed late at night, the next day they were still even wetter. Terrible experience

I'm just gonna say what it hides in the listing: You have to pay $100 cash deposit, even if you choose to pay online. I chose the pay at facility option and was blindsided by it. The good news is, it will be promptly returned on your departure, but it is an extra trip to an ATM and inconvenient. I would recommend going elsewhere if possible.

Too much stuff to list. All of it bad. Roadworks immediately outside the hotel make it very hard to navigate to. I rang the hotel to ask. Got voicemail. Left message. No call back. Eventually found a way to get in but took 20 mins. At reception they insisted on taking a $100 cash deposit from all guests. There's no forewarning of this. Several guests had to travel into downtown to find as ATM. They also photocopied my credit card without my permission including the CVC number. They refused to destroy it. An easy way for your credit card to be abused. Room smelt musty, bed linen clearly wasn't fresh, bathroom whilst clean had broken fixtures. Half the lights didn't work. Carpet was sticky. Plus point, the coffee machine worked. I'd rather sleep on the street than stay here again.

The shower leaked a full stream. The bathroom sink would not drain. Sheets and blankets had burn holes in them. Pretty sure I was put in the front as the back

Worst place i have ever stayed. Staines everywhere extremely unclean. The rooms do not look like the photos. Avoid at all costs.

First, we were not allowed in the lobby, there was a small "bank looking window" that the clerk spoke to us. It was in a very seedy part of town with construction YARDS from the hotel. The hotel looked run down, we asked to see the room, and were denied. We felt extremely unsafe and left immediatley. In addition, we had booked this hotel through Expedia and we had difficulties with Expedia to reimburse us. DO NOT CONSIDER THIS HOTEL!

Hey so this hotel was not the greatest,it was terrible, there was a huge hassle for checkin in i flew in from oregon, I paid for two nights but I just couldn’t stay the second and this is why, there was a clear pee stain in the corner of the hotel and the bathroom I just felt so gross, it was just broken into pieces, the door was all messed up with foot holes and the door ripping off when you open the bathroom door, bugs and different liquids in the fridge, and a outlet just completely open for anybody to get electrocuted, I wanted to get a refund for the next night bc I just couldn’t stand it, but they said they have a one night rule thing so I ended up having to cancel, never staying at this establishment again. Whoever judges the hotel safety and sanitation should really consider weather or not this place should be open
