"A little slice of paradise"

10.0

It doesn't get much better than this. The hotel is beautiful, rooms are comfortable and well appointed, food and drinks are top quality, and the staff are the best at what they do. Leo and Ulises were fantastic as our butler team, they made the entire stay very easy for us, anticipating anything we might need and just genuinely caring that we enjoyed our stay. If you are considering a vacation here I definitely recommend asking to be one of their guests.

"A Beautiful Stay"

10.0

This was my first time at Garza Blanca and it did not disappoint. Beautiful resort, great room, excellent food, and very friendly staff. It exceeded expectations. The only downside is that the location is a bit from the harbor/town -- but I knew that going in. I went to decompress and relax and I accomplished that. I just wish I could have stayed longer. And, the sunrises were beautiful.

"Not worth the price tag"

2.0

The hotel itself was nice—the food and drinks were good, and most of the staff were friendly. However, several members of the waitstaff seemed overly focused on upselling items not included in the all-inclusive package and frequently pushed for tips, which took away from the experience. The main reason I wouldn’t return, though, is how the hotel is run and the way its “promotions” are marketed to justify the high price tag. Our group of eight originally planned to book separate rooms, but the resort upsold us to a 4-bedroom penthouse by promoting a “better value” that included a $50 daily spa credit and a $400 daily resort credit. What wasn’t explained clearly upfront was the restrictive fine print attached to these benefits. The $50 spa credit is for the entire room—not per person. With eight people in a $20k penthouse, that came out to about $6.25 each, which is essentially unusable. We tried to use it for a simple day pass to the sauna and cold plunge ($55), only to learn the credit is only valid toward treatments of 50 minutes or more—starting at around $300. As for the $400 daily resort credit, you can only apply it to one item at a time, and only up to 20% of that item’s cost. In reality, to use the full $400 credit, you would need to spend roughly $2,000 per day on a very limited list of amenities. Overall, the way these credits are structured feels misleading. When you’re paying $20k for a four-day all-inclusive stay, you expect the experience to truly be all-inclusive and for the staff to be accommodating—not for the resort to rely on fine print and upselling tactics. Unfortunately, because of these issues, I wouldn’t stay here again.

"A disappointing experience after years of loyalty — management needs urgent improvement"

4.0

It genuinely disappoints me to write this. This was my 10th stay at Garza Blanca in 5 years, and my family and I had been planning to return in April 2026 with a group of 17 people. We visit Cabo every year and have always made Garza Blanca our first choice — until now. I booked three rooms, and the reservations team assured me they were all ocean-view. In reality, they were partial ocean-view at best, but I didn’t complain — we spend most of our time enjoying the property anyway. I was also told at check-in that the resort no longer offers butler service for suite guests. Again, surprising and disappointing, but not something I escalated. The pool team was phenomenal — especially Eduardo (server) and Joel (pool concierge). They’re the reason I’m giving any stars at all. Unfortunately, everything fell apart at checkout. We had a sick baby, so I approached the front desk to request a simple 1-hour extension to 12pm. I spoke with José Luis Penalocion, who introduced himself as a manager. Instead of even attempting to assist, he shut down the request immediately with a harsh “no.” I asked what time the next guest checks in (4pm) and how long housekeeping needs (3 hours). Based on that timeline, extending us to 12pm wouldn’t affect operations at all. Yet he repeated, again harshly, “policy is policy.” This interaction was unnecessarily rigid, lacking empathy, and completely misaligned with the service standards we’ve come to expect from Garza Blanca. To make matters worse, we were told that if we ordered anything after 12pm while waiting for our transportation, we would be charged as if we were no longer guests. This is not how 5-star resorts treat loyal returning customers. Every luxury resort I’ve stayed at (including in Cabo) allows guests to check out from their rooms while still enjoying the property until their airport pickup. This was the first time I’ve ever experienced such inflexibility. My family had strongly considered becoming Elite members, but after this experience, we will be trying Grand Velas next time. I sincerely hope management retrains staff like José Luis on customer service, empathy, and flexibility. One poor interaction shouldn’t overshadow years of loyalty — but in this case, it unfortunately did.

"Nice resort...room for improvement"

6.0

Beautiful resort and great location. Food is great, drinks can be hit or miss. Not much for teenagers, especially when all ebikes are currently unavailable due to repair. This is the one thing my 13 year old was looking forward to...service is slow at dinner. Spa was a nice experience but again, some of the hydrotherapy stations were offline and it would have been nice to have been notified of that at booking. Having stayed at Gran Velas in the past, I see a difference in all of the above and their customer service focus.

"Relaxing beautiful resort!!"

10.0

I just returned from my first visit to Garza Blanca Los Cabos and had a great relaxing experience. Andrea provided checkin service and had mini bar items removed per my request. Sheccid and Sofia provided my daily butler service to include daily notes of schedules, assistance with restaurants when needed, arranging departure transport and just being available. This is a service I typically do not feel I need, but I did enjoy and appreciate their excellent service and assistance. I spent most of my days on rooftop pool area and received excellent service from David, Pacheco, Rogelio, Ruben, Christopher, Alfredo and Ricardo. The pool staff are rotated daily so I had different servers each day but previous servers would say hello as able in their daily movements. The rooftop food was great. Foods served were, Fruit Platter with Tajin ( had this daily), Beetroot Carpaccio, Chicken Poke ( one favorites), shrimp cocktail, Baja style taco with substituted grilled shrimp, cheeseburger (excellent burger), hot dog, flank steak, chicken wings and French fries as per menu. All food was fresh and hot. Blanca Blue Restaurant breakfast buffet with made to order omelets, waffles and several other fresh made items was excellent with good service by Alondra. I also experienced their evening menu of Mexican fare to include Melted Cheese and Pastor Pork ( my favorite), fresh corn tortillas with assorted sauces as well as beef fajitas. Great service provided by Juan and Lester. NOI Italian rooftop restaurant provided great service by Eric where we enjoyed Insalata NOI salad, Fettuccine Bolognese and Cassata NOI Dessert. All food was excellent as was service. Bocados Steakhouse provided great service by Uries as well as other staff. I enjoyed dry aged ribeye with baked potato and vegetables with steak prepared perfectly. Dessert was cheesecake with crème cheese, chocolate sauce and guava ice crème. Heroshi Japanese restaurant server was Roberto. Food enjoyed was mixed tempura and mango roll ( favorite) with main course being beef with noodles. Food was tasty and service great. I did not drink any alcohol as I was overcoming a virus, but I did enjoy the refreshing Minty Kiwi Mocktail without the mint on a daily basis. Housekeeping provided excellent service day and night time checkin for additional needs. I appreciate attentive housekeeping although I use them as needed which generally is every other day. The resort and grounds are beautiful and modern with great art throughout grounds and hallways. Resort shared transport was on-time for departure to airport with more than enough time for checkin. Thank you to entire staff in front and behind scenes for your hard work in providing a memorable vacation.

"Not an exclusive resort"

6.0

Garza Blanca was supposed to be an exclusive 5-Diamond resort where members, like us, and their guests could enjoy a special luxury environment. But they do weddings and this includes large numbers of wedding guests who are typically young and certainly not members. This changes the atmosphere of the resort and it is no longer exclusive . Our stay was also marred by the fact that we were given an outside room with a direct view of the nearby highway. The noise was such that we were reluctant to use the outdoor patio of our room.

"Terrible Checkout Experience – Never Returning"

2.0

This was my second visit in three months, and unfortunately it will be my last. Our entire trip took a turn for the worse during checkout, all because of how the front desk handled a simple situation. We had the all-inclusive package AND a late checkout. Our kids grabbed lunch after 12 PM while we waited for our pickup at 2 PM — completely normal for any resort offering all-inclusive. Instead, we were told the all-inclusive “ended at noon” and were charged for their lunch. No one mentioned this cutoff to the kids, and nothing was written on the paperwork we signed at check-in. They even showed us the form with information that was clearly handwritten after we had already signed it. The front desk agent, Monsa, made everything worse by arguing instead of listening. She kept going back and forth while our driver waited 30 minutes and almost left us. At that point, I just paid because I didn’t want our ride to leave. For a resort at this price point, the lack of professionalism and the way the situation was handled is unacceptable. We arrived Friday at 7 PM and didn’t even use the full day of all-inclusive we paid for — yet somehow it ends at noon the day of checkout? I’ve enjoyed this resort before, but after this experience, I won’t be returning.
