"***OVER-PRICED FOR NOTHING SPECIAL AND NO CUSTOMER SERVICE***"

2.0

We travel to Mexico every year. Sometimes twice a year. We have been to several luxury resorts in Cancun and playa del Carmen. Plus other resorts around the world. We are here in Garza for a family wedding. First, way too expensive for what you get!! Resort is small. Only 4 restaurants and no entertainment. The one star they got was for the food! Which is above average. Second the service staff are also good but not their managers or anyone in charge. For example: they have an adult pool on the rooftop and my 17.5 years old daughter came by to ask us a question before going to our room, it wasn’t even 30 second, Roberto, who is in charge up there I guess…. Came and said” this is an adult section and she needs to leave” I told him “ I understand but she is here to ask a question and leave. She is not staying… also she is not 2 years old to cause any noise or disturbances for others. The concierge had mention she could come up too since she is not a kid!” Oh my God… that guy wouldn’t even let me talk…. Non-stop kept saying this is adult section and she needs to leave!! Non- stop in a very very rude manner!!!! To the point that I started yelling at him saying “SHE IS NOT HERE TO STAY and she is not a kid to cause any noise”. There were total of 6-7 people up there at the moment. We also had issues with the employee being rude to guests from outside which wedding party had paid for to come in. This was a wedding for over 100 people. This hotel had over 40 rooms booked for it… you would think they would have better customer service!!!!! No!!! They follow the rules little too serious and causes guests pissed off and never want to come back. We were here for over a week and had spent almost $10k on this hotel but thanks to how rude their “people in charge” can be, we will never do that again and make sure non of friends come here. There are other options in the area with nicer people. Other negative experiences: beach was eroded from the week ago storm and it wasn’t even easy to go and walk on it. It took them a week to start digging some steps into sand so people can get to the actual beach. Sand was very rough and rocky. Ocean is also very rough even on a calm days. Our family wedding was beautiful but they charged arm and a leg for EVERYTHING. And on top of that they treat the guests like sxxx. Rules rules. Oh well…. Our rule is to get service and go places that managers have better customer service and understand how to keep your guests happy and not pissed off! They are like robots here. Very rude robots. They take their job and hotel rules way too serious and have zero understanding of who comes to this above average priced place and what kind of service WE AS THE CUSTOMERS expect! So Don’t do weddings. Don’t buy into their time share and spend your money at another place. Also drinks are only good at the rooftop bar! They water-down and give you cheap alcohol in other bars. No more Cabo Garza for us or any of our friends. If by any chance you still decide to come to this place…. Plan on being here after 3:00 pm since they follow “Rules” and won’t give you your room till after 3:00.

"Beware inclusive fees don’t include tips; charge for premium items that normally are not; must do dinner reser early"

6.0

Beware that you don’t expect much additional fees because it is all inclusive but some items are considered premium which really shouldn’t be. I was surprised after eating at the steakhouse as the waiter wrote in a $225 tip which I changed to $100. It was a table of 7 and we didn’t order any premium items. There is definitely a mid-communication between mgmt and tip process. The high all inclusive fees don’t include tips too as other resorts. Also the Japanese restaurant was rude as they said one of my guests on our reservation didn’t have a reservation and made them sit outside. After I explained they only included one reservation but had two reservations, they still made my guest sit outside which was raining While the hotel is really nice and enjoyed the facilities, I wouldn’t come back. Also transportation is very expensive at hotel

This is my second stay at Garza Blanca and I honestly can’t wait to go back. The service here is top-notch ! the food is amazing. It’s not your typical “all-inclusive” food —they take it to the next level and really give you food you’ll remember & dream about. I left behind my necklace in the spa and they mailed it to me. Talk about CARE! 10/10

This resort offered great options of Restaurants and food was delicious in all of them. I highly recommend the spa, it was so relaxing. Gym is good, it is open 24/7. Staff were friendly. They offer great kids place and pool area that is family friendly. Lunch served at the pool was amazing. We didn’t leave this resort as we wanted to enjoy everything it had to offer.

This is a luxury experience, it’s safe , calm amazing food service and drinks. There is no night life and the pools close extremely early, 6pm and 7/8pm daily. You must make reservation for all meals. The pre arrival credits and on site credits do not work based on what is said they only allow 20% of the bill to be used for the credit . They will require you pay even if you have daily credit. There needs to be a bar area open and the adults only pool closes at 6pm seriously? Why? Too expensive for that little time frame of the pool

"Pretty good, but fell short in a few areas."

4.0

Pretty good, but fell short in a few areas. For the price, I expected better service. Most of the beef is with the room we booked versus what we were given. Unfortunately the ocean-view one-bedroom we booked was more of a resort/pool view. If looking at upgrading to the ocean view, I would not recommend it unless you can somehow get guaranteed one with an actual ocean view (closer to the ends of the buildings). Had we known then we would not have opted to pay the extra $$. Front desk was not helpful and could not offer any credit or refund. They offered another room which was essentially the same location in a parallel building with a very slight improvement in view. They are pretty family friendly and have a lot of amenities but none of it is offered to you at check-in. Even if they see you checking in with kids, for some reason we had to ask for every little thing and some of the things we asked for we only knew from previous friends or reading reviews. A small but annoying thing—on their website they advertise "24 hr milkshakes, cookies, handmade toys: special keepsakes for your children". When I called room service for the treats and the front desk to get the toys, we were told neither was possible but that we were limited to what was on the tv menu and purchasing in the gift shop. They don't have much for young kids...the splash pad is pretty basic. And when we went to one of the events (loteria game) on the patio, it was just a basket with the cards and the event staff sitting on a couch nearby.

"Great first time experience and better than we expected....."

10.0

We had an amazing time overall. Everything was basically perfect except the breakfast was just ok. The lady workers at breakfast need a bit of a pep talk every day to serve with some excitement because they were not the most friendly, helpful or energenic as all the other servers throughout the day and night which made breakfast a bit boring and uptight. Service at breakfast needs major help and work on the breakfast staff because they all look so lazy and depressed. They are just costing themselves extra tips. Not very smart. Also please add more variety in the breakfast. More "fresh" fruits and liven it up. Food at breakfast also nothing really special compared to our stays in Cancun Garza Blanca which is 5 times better. BUT because everything else was so nice and perfect we still had to give the resort 5 stars because honestly an average at best breakfast experience was not going to ruin it for us because everything else including lunch, poolside, beach and dinners were amazingling perfect. Even the front desk was awesome. At many other resorts in Mexico you always have to check and fight over your bill at the end, but at Cabo Garza Blanca I have to say for one of the first times in Mexico our Bill was spot on perfect with no complaints. Only other thing I would suggest is leaving the pools open until at least 9 or 10 and at least 1 night club on the premises. Just a little more late night action. Great overall experience and beautiful beaches which are far superior to the Cancun location. Rooms were nice and clean as well. Good maid service! Nice overall resort and we have been all over.
