"Spent $5000 to stay here. Not happy with my experience"

I travel to Cabo every year and typically stay at Marquis or Hard Rock because of their consistently exceptional service and dining. This year, I decided to try Garza Blanca Cabo after seeing several positive TikTok reviews. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet expectations. While the property is beautiful, the overall service fell short compared to other Cabo resorts. At check-in, we were told the concierge wanted to talk to us about the property. Instead of a genuine welcome, the conversation quickly pivoted into a timeshare-style pitch (though they insisted it wasn’t timeshare). When we asked about the time commitment, we were told it would be two hours. In exchange, they offered a “discounted” massage at $120 instead of the regular $245 — far less generous than other resorts that provide complimentary gifts for attending these presentations. Once it became clear we weren’t interested, the concierge’s tone turned cold and unwelcoming. Combined with the front desk staff’s lack of warmth, this set a negative first impression. All-Inclusive Package: The explanation of the premium charges with the 20% discount was unclear and misleading. I was told that the $120 daily credit would offset premium dining options at a discounted rate. In practice, the credit applied only to the discounted portion, leaving additional out-of-pocket charges that weren’t communicated upfront. The food itself was delicious and high quality, but unfortunately, the overall dining experience was undermined by broken air conditioning in the restaurants and the resulting fly problem, which made meals uncomfortable and unhygienic. Dining Environment (A/C Issues): For two consecutive days, the air conditioning was not functioning in certain restaurants. Dining in the heat was extremely uncomfortable, and rather than providing temporary solutions such as fans, the resort simply opened doors and windows. This allowed flies to enter the dining areas, creating an unhygienic and unpleasant atmosphere where guests were swatting flies while trying to eat. We even asked for fly fans at our table and were told they could not provide any, as all available units were being used at the buffets. For a luxury property, this lack of preparation and contingency planning was disappointing. Wi-Fi: Complimentary Wi-Fi was very slow and difficult to use. The property offers a premium option at $30 per day, which can be covered by the daily credit, but for a resort of this caliber, I would expect reliable standard Wi-Fi without requiring an upgrade. Overall, Garza Blanca Cabo did not deliver the value or hospitality I expect from a luxury Cabo resort. I would not recommend this hotel. TikTok reviews are misleading at best — and likely paid promotions to hype up the property

I went here a weeks ago for solo vacation. It was amazing!!! This resort is top tier, very nice and relaxing . I didn’t want to leave even though I had been there for almost a whole week. I definitely want to go back already .

"WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE"

DO NOT GO HERE! Customer service is awful and super shady! The hotel sold us a massage for 2 with a pre-payment of $496. The deal was that we had to do a timeshare orientation and then the 2 massages were less than $100 but it was non-refundable. I did my massage the day before. My husband was supposed to do his massage the following day. Well my husband was up all night prior to his massage vomiting. He called the spa and told them the situation. We thought we were doing the right thing by not exposing anyone. The spa said we would not be charged. Well they did not refund us and I have been emailing with the spa manager, Antonio Lozano, who is claiming he did not promise to refund us as the massage is non-refundable. Clearly they don't care if someone is sick. If he hadn't promised to refund us than my husband would have gotten the massage and exposed everyone. In the email, the general manager, Arturo Esponda Batista, is also cc'd. He has not even responded. I called the front desk and they just put you on hold and then hang up without even speaking to you. This is the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. How can you not respond to a customer to figure out the situation and see that my husband was actually SICK. Shame on the hotel and spa.

"Amazing"

Stayed in the 3 bedroom ocean front penthouse suite and it was so worth it! It’s such a big suite and amazing views! It was my husband, our toddler and 2 other couples. It was pretty busy at check in so it took awhile to get to the room. But I was so glad, they brought the little luxury amenities- there was a diaper changing station and a nice crib and a cute little stuff toy. The balcony is wonderful and all the rooms have access to the balcony from their room and also there is access from the living room. Great hot tub. Our butler Leo was great!! He took all our requests! Food wise my favorite restaurant was Noi which was the rooftop Italian restaurant. Such beautiful views and lights. There was live music with a lady playing violin. Second favorite is Hiroshi. The breakfast buffet was great! Lots of options and breakfast smoothies! My husband loved the tacos with fresh tortillas. Nice restaurant by the beach also but water is not swimmable but we took a nice walk. The pools were great! Big splash pad that my toddler loved! And a swim up bar for the adults. Coconuts are extra charge just FYI. The kids club is only for drop off so unfortunate we could not use it. We had the chef dinner at the suite which was delicious and great service, and we enjoyed the fireworks from the balcony. I’m probably missing a lot of great things but overall, great stay! Definitely get the suite if going with a group!
