great location, friendly staff

excessively warm room, small bed and poor sound proofing-could hear snoring from fellow guests, thankfully we bought ear plugs. fab location but the whole building is tired and needs an update. At £160 for an average room I expected more. ok breakfast but nothing special.

All the staff were really excellent, and the assistant manager was exceptional, with his telephone manner, care and attention for us, and cheery nature and sense of humour. The room was warm, spotless and comfortable. The provision of tea and coffe and biscuits etc was excellent and a big plus. The breakfast was brilliant: copious and tasty and nothing was too much trouble to provide for the staff

The menu for the evening was rather unbalanced and generally didn’t seem to be freshly prepared; the curry clearly wasn’t. However we had the steak and ale pie and that was good. The walk-in shower was nice but the shower head not very powerful, and the extractor fan not strong enough for the room. These are not complaints but advice.

Lovely staff, comfortable room and incredible views

Location was excellent, with access to the Monsal Trail and a wide range of walking routes. Large bedroom and comfortable bed, with great views .

Lovely location excellent value for money Lovely food and staff were attractive friendly and welcoming. The whole place was clean and tidy.
