Monsal Head Hotel

The location is nearby the Monsal Dale and easy to access trail. Several restaurants around. And the scene outside room windows is like a picture.

The main road is just outside and a bit noisy if there are some car riding at night.

Hannah & Will went the extra mile to ensure I could have a late checkout.

The fire safety green light in the room is like sleeping in daylight, this would stop me staying there again.

There was nothing not to like . Everything about our break here was perfect

Staff were very helpful and clearly hardworking the views were excellent

The property is a little tired and is going to have a refurb

The decor I'd clean and looked after but a little dated and worn.

Food quality and choice very poor. Ploughman's especially bad for price. Low quality ingredients with two slices of dried out pre sliced packet white bread and a spread NOT butter! Did send back, they returned the plate with a couple of extra cheeses and pre sliced packet brown bread. Selection on dinner menu poor. Dining area unappealing, We chose this hotel because there used to be a very nice restaurant/bar that served fantastic food with lovely staff. Unfortunately this has now closed and the staff no longer there. Breakfast menu fair but again poor quality bread over toasted, dry. Overcooked omelette. Breakfast room slightly more appealing with nicely set tables. Damp in our room (see pics) woke to find a slug crawling up the wall.

The location and food were superb. We enjoyed the sunset view from our room.

Wifi signal was poor.
