The Queen Catherine Hotel

No breakfast

Breakfast was nice though had to wait quite a while.

Went over the road for a pint as there was just two old guys sitting separately in silence at about 8pm. Came back at 9:30 to find the place locked up and the bar downstairs lights off. Was not given an outside key but spotted someone sitting at the bar in semi darkness so knocked on the window. A gruff man with an Irish accent opened the door and said 'can I help you' in an accusatory way. I explained I was staying there and he apologised and let me in. Went to bed wondering what would have happened if he had not been in the bar.... Room had plenty of cobwebs! To cap it all the local town clock seemed to chime every half hour throughout the night which even ear plugs could not shut out. could not wait to leave in the morning and my advice would be to try and book the place across the road.

Everything, but the food was outstanding.

Arrived at the hotel… Lady who owned the hotel was not very welcoming ! Got told no rooms as just arrived back from Turkey and the rooms were not ready!! she took us to The Three Tunns which apparently she also owns. Poor welcome Empty pub No WiFi Internet or TV Crap Shower tray floods No extract fan No guest welcome pack or instruction on who to contact and how to check out etc

Lovely location, nice room with good facilities. Breakfast was excellent.

Comfortable and stylish room with modern bathroom. Booked queen catherine but put in three tuns which was close by and worked well. Good breakfast (accommodated gf requirement) a pleasant stay

Lovely comfortable and clean room. Good food and service in the bar.

Lack of parking was a problem I had to drive round several times to find a parking space which wasn’t very handy when I had luggage and a dog!

Good food, I had Steak and Ale pie, great breakfast in the morning too, the pub is in a nice village.

I was put into a room in another building around the corner, it had no working Wi-Fi, the BT box didn't work which I reset a few times but to no avail. The village doesn't have a phone signal either. This was a deluxe double, but didnt feel deluxe. Shower room was tiny. The room had 1 double and 1 single in it and only one chair, not sure what you do if more than one person staying in it! The staff turned off the lights behind the bar around 20.40hrs, so I took the hint they were closing and left and went back to my room.
