"Lackluster"

The staff were helpful and courteous. The High Tea presentation was lovely, however their selection seems to be shrinking.

Our room was extremely cold with the heating clearly not functioning, not optimal on a cold Melbourne day. Staff were very helpful and we ended up in a warm room. We were left with the impression of the hotel cutting corners and in it's death throes, also evident at breakfast that was not a buffet, it was al a carte and a one pastry only affair.

The towels l used on Sat were hung up appropriately. The cleaner left all the dirty towels on the bathroom floor.

"Disappointing and a let down."

We liked the old atmosphere, the location and the pictures on the walls

The room was too small, the bed and pillow were uncomfortable, the room was hot and we could not open the window. We had no view from our room and it was dark at all times. At breakfast I ordered a dish that included egg and it came without it. I had given instructions for my bread to be on the side however that is how my husband's came. There was no apology for the missing egg, it was just presented to me in a small plate with no comment at all. Also my husband is coeliac and we asked for a GF pastry, we waited 20 minutes for it and then reminded the server. Once we did, the pastry came within minutes. It definitely was not a 5 star stay!

Sound from apartment above unusually loud - probably children. Don't like shower over bath - forgot to request separate shower.

Old world charm. Close to CBD. Lovely room.

Terrible food. The dining room wasn't open in the evening. Food was very expensive.
