"Do Not Stay Here"

2.0

My wife and I have stayed in many Hampton Inn hotels across the US. Moderate price, good breakfast, usually OK. This was by far the worst ever! It was so bad there is no second place. The building nad exterior was very run down and needed painting. The room was small. We dropped our luggage and met some people for dinner. When we came back and looked more closely, the valance of the window was detached, the chair pitched you backwards, there was dust everywhere. We got tardy for bed and when we turned down the covers, there was a brown/red spot!! It was too late to repack and get another room, so we just spread towels and hoped for the best. And the room was very noisy from the interstate, not quiet as Hampton normally are. Overall, a horrible experience.

"Stand up and demand what you deserve"

2.0

I agree 100% with all the bad reviews...it's a dump. We were put off by the outside corridors but checked in and went to the room. Crappy dirty carpet, rickety furniture AND the door didn't close properly and cold air came in. I can't believe so many people just sucked it up...my a** was on the phone to Hilton immediately and told them I didn't feel safe and I wasn't staying there. The kindly agent called the front desk, told them to give us our deposit back and made us a reservation at the nearby Hilton Garden Inn (for about $20 more) which seemed like the Taj Mahal by comparison. The Hampton was clearly a cheap motel in a prior life and apparently the only location with outside entrances. People....do NOT put up with an unacceptable dump, call Hilton and have them move you. The extra few bucks was so worth it and the awesome HGI clerk hooked us up with Cyra's Restaurant in downtown Dalton which is the best restaurant we've ever found on a roadtrip.

Our stay was nice. I was expecting less than the standard Hampton Inn experience based on prior reviews. This property is more of a motel, than hotel.

Was more of a surprise begin it was the old fashion outside doors. Motel style! Not expected. Right next to the freeway, very loud. Don’t recall if mentioned in reservation information. Apparently you’re going to demolish and rebuild starting in May.

It is unique to experience a bed that you roll to the center because of how old it is. I also noticed that the desk bowed to center. None of the amenities that I have been used to seeing at a Hampton were present at this location. Must do better.

"Not up to Hampton Inn standards"

Not up to Hampton Inn standards! Run1 down hotel converted. Not done well. The beds were not up to Hilton comfy beds. Disappointing stay!

Our first room had dead bugs and cockroaches on the carpets in the corners. But after asking for a second room, it was much better and cleaner. Was unsettling though.

I like cleanliness and breakfast. Did not like external doors; my guess remodeled Red Roof.

"Hampton branding should be removed"

2.0

The only thing that makes this a Hampton is the lobby, linens, and new sink. Love that a local guide tried to pump up the dump of a hotel. Anyone who thinks this is a great hotel clearly does not stay at Hamptons and has incredibly low standards. If it were another 1-Star hotel, sure, it'd be fine. However, as a Diamond member (which honestly doesn't mean as much as it did in the past), this Hampton should lose its branding. 1. Old soap with tiny hairs was left in the shower. 2. One of the two double beds (doubles, not queens) had no mattress pad 3. Both beds appeared newer but were all spring, bounce, and noise 4. The chair and ottoman was so dingy and dirty I didn't touch them. 5. My feet stuck to the carpeting beside the bed. 6. The room deodorizer was so strong the until I turned on the a/c in an attempt to air it out, I could do little bit to cough. Honestly, I would've slept in the car if the person I was traveling with wouldn't have been bothered by my choice. 7. The bathroom door is peeling at the bottom and appears to have only primer. A good wash and fresh paint would go a long way 8. The walls were filthy and dingy. 9. The TV stand sagged. 10. The furniture appreciate to have been purchased at a used surplus store and used as-is, or it's just that old that someone needs to refurnish and repair it. 11. The inside of the door to the room needs cleaned. 12. The check-in desk staff needs to dress professionally. I didn't try breakfast or coffee. . . If that's the cleanliness of the room, I wasn't willing to try the food or drink. Also, I contacted corporate. They've open a guest relations ticket. There's no need for some glad-hand reply to this review unless the hotel management would like to put on a performance in an effort to keep up their facade of earnestness. Like the the lobby (the only aspect that like like a Hampton), it's all for show.
