Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Charleston Downtown

Great location, friendly staff. No complaints.quality of the room was wonderful, had great sized TV, space to put your clothes. The microwave and mini fridge were a huge plus. Beds were comfortable and the linens were clean. Would definitely stay again

Even though the hotel is under renovation currently, our room has totally been redone new, and was great. Renovation is due to be completed by about the end of July but you get a great rate for a downtown location. The staff was very helpful and pleasant to deal with too.

The reception is a building site, be warned because no one else will mention it ! The receptionist did assure me it is in the small print of every booking platform but it is well hidden in my experience. After the shock of the state of the place and the lift’s filthy interior things improved in seeing the room. Had a renovated room in the 7th floor which was well equipped and comfortable bed and pillows. Shower was great and all clean and new. It would be good to give travellers a clear heads up on the scale of the work and the potential impact of the noise and disruption. That would be fairer on the traveller and the reception team who are clearly dealing with shocked visitors every day !! No concessions for the disruption either, just push back to ‘it’s on the booking websites that we are under renovation’ Appreciate renovations are needed but the communication could be managed much better.

If you go to bed early and wake up early and aren’t in during the day, it’s a great bargain, even with the construction. I chose it for the easy walk to the hospital. The 6th & 7th floors are fully renovated and the pool is open, but most of the hotel is a construction zone. Giant tv kinda works; ice machine in 7, fridge & microwave in room; free coffee in lobby. Otherwise, bring your hard hat. And earplugs if you plan to sleep past 8.

They are upgrading rooms and the lobby and elevators are really scary looking.

Absolutely gutted property. There was no warning that the entire hotel would be under contraction with open nails, men in cranes looking into your windows, extremely loud construction sounds. the lobby is absolutely atrocious and they should not be taking guests.

Hotel is under construction and should not be still hosting guests. Elevator is deconstructed with exposed wires. Front door was locked when we arrived, after 10 minutes of searching we eventually found a side door to enter but had to walk over wood, cardboard, and cones to access the side door. After informing the employees about the locked door, we were yet again locked outside for 10 minutes. The employees seemed to not care. I asked to confirm there were employees at the front desk 24/7, they said yes. Yet when I went to check out in the morning there were no employees anywhere - so I just left.

The hotel is under renovation. There is construction debris and materials all over the place. It's unsafe to be in the property.

The room was clean and well equipped with a fridge, coffee machine, microwave and a big flat screen TV. The staff was pleasant although not overly engaging.

The hotel underwent construction so there was a lot of noice and you were confronted with construction workers everywhere in the hotel. The location of the place is fine but it's not a nice area of town and it's quite a long walk/ a drive towards the city centre/ harbour/ any sights. In an otherwise walkable city this was a negative point.

This place is under construction, looks like crap, really thought it was closed when we arrived late, the place is all torn apart. I asked where is breakfast, oh we are not doing that. I asked for discount since it was part of the stay, told no discount!
