Hyatt Palm Springs

HORRIBLE!!! So unfortunate because of its location on the main Street to everything… Service-once great now HORRIBLE and NON-EXISTENT!!! Accessibility- NOT ACCESSIBLE!!! My sister uses mobility scooter and there was NO ONE AVAILABLE to assist with luggage at all. If I had not been with her she would not have been able to get her luggage from the car to the room!!! Parking-NO VALET, daily parking fee, parking entrance around the corner! Front Desk-rude, and unwelcoming Room-used to be very nice, now old, and run down. Stained tub, bathroom door sticks had to lean on door to get it to open; patio dusty and only one chair available! WiFi-very sketchy and poor; almost impossible to hold signal!!! Overall review: really should be NO STARS, only 1 star for the view and location!

Room was right on Palm Canyon with a view of the Thursday night street fair. Overall very big room. Front half had a large room with a living area, couch, end tables, desk, large tv, and a fridge. Back half had a king bed, bedroom drawers, night stands and a large tv. Slider opened to a nice little balcony with chairs and a small table to sit and watch the nightlife.

Parking was under the hotel and it stunk! I mean literally stunk like a sewer. At the elevator where it goes up to the lobby we stood for 10 minuets waiting for it to come down. Another person arrived and used their hotel card to call it down. Nowhere does that say to do that in the parking garage. Once we got to the front desk the clerk assigned us a room. I complained about the trouble in the garage and they waived the $30 parking fee. I would have thought they would at least give us a brief rundown on either the hotel or the local area but nope. We went to our room on the 3rd floor. Key card to get in. The room smelled old. Right off the bat we see a hole in the wall where the ft door had hit in the past. Two more smaller holes through out the room. Bathroom was ok but we had to call down for wash cloths. Slowest draining toilet we had ever seen. (what a waist of water). The cable box in the ft was sitting upside down, but it worked. The back ones was leaned against the wall. When we started hooking up our USB stuff in the bedroom we noticed that the one of the 2 end tables lights was plugged in to the other light via an extension cord that ran under the bed. (not safe). We turned on the AC and although it was working we could not feel any air in the bedroom half. Felt like dead air. We had brought a few little battery hand held fans and used them to circulate the air. We walked to the casino 2 blocks away and after a few hours we returned and found the restaurant and bar closed. It has been 10 years since we lived in Palm Springs and back then this was a real nice place to stay. Now it is disappointing.

The service was poor at arrival with no one greeting guests or offering to help get luggage to the room. The restaurant food, just breakfast in my case, was mediocre at best and the restaurant service was also quite poor. It was a $300 a night two star experience. The hotel is also very dated and we had a badly cracked sink in the bathroom that needs to be replaced. Overall, the hotel is in need of a major renovation. I wouldn't stay there again or recommend it to anyone.

Two Pros to this property: 1) location 2) size of room Cons: 1) resort fee that doesn’t measure up to facility 2) PUBLIC WiFi that was unreliable - but again, public! 3) $30/day parking in a garage that smells like sewage 5) Pool area tired! Pool extremely small, not heated and during my stay no outside service. 6) Rooms are also tired! Sliding glass door casing coming off, paint coming off of patio. Decor like that in a 1980s McMansion. So many tacky mirrors

Overpriced, the dog fee was ridiculous ( $100 per night). The carpet on the hallways of the 6th floor were very worn, wall papers were torn.

The beds were very small and very uncomfortable. They were advertised as queens but were obviously full-sized. I would not recommend this hotel.

I am a Hyatt member and usually love Hyatt. We were in Palm Springs to attend a family event and reserved the ‘VIP suite’ for 2 nights (late checkin 1st night) in the hopes of getting a higher level of quality (nicer beds, bathroom, quieter, etc). What we got was anything but. The room (specifically the bedroom portion of the suite) was located right next to a service elevator, which made a horrible gong sound we believe to have been the doors open and close, unfortunately it was 10 o’clock at night. The fan on the AC unit in the bedroom was so loud we could hardly hear each other talk. The king bed what so ‘cupped’ our first night’s sleep wasn’t good and since we travelled all day we decided to sleep sideways across the bed (aside from my feet hanging off it was actually more comfortable). When we went to open the curtains in the morning to let the sun in we found a T-shirt that didn’t belong to us on the floor! The couch in the living room area (that had the sofa bed in it) was seriously the most uncomfortable couch I’ve ever sat on - not to mention it was stained. The bathroom had a double headed shower set but one side was not only non functioning, it appeared to be coming out of the ceiling and walls. The other side barely worked because of the severe calcification I attempted to contact the front desk using the Hotel supplied telephone and got an odd sounding busy signal - all seven times I tried! At checkout, when I handed a nice lady at the front desk, the T-shirt we found and showed her all the pictures and video suggesting the suite be ‘removed from availability’ and repaired. She was nice and apologized and gave us the resort fee oof of our stay (~$40). I dunno - when I pay over $400 a night I expect more.
