Radisson Blu Hotel, Edinburgh City Centre

Excellent centrally located hotel. A warm and speedy check-in. Our room was massive and we had nice welcome snacks as a Radisson rewards member. The room was very quiet and beds comfy. Nice bathroom with lots of complementary amenities. We used payment with points so it was good value for what we paid. Did not try breakfast or the other facilities.

Great location ..right on the high historical street. the atmosphere is buzzing and lively. Very warm services.... the staff is polite. the rooms are perfect and it is a very friendly hotel.

shocking experience, heating not working, lights not working (no maintenance) room not cleaned until 7pm : a disgrace.

From the moment we arrived at the Radisson, the service was outstanding – the staff were friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. The rooms were modern, spotless, and very comfortable, with every detail designed to ensure a pleasant stay. The location couldn’t be better, within walking distance of Edinburgh’s main attractions. The value for money was excellent, especially considering the high standard of service and comfort provided. Overall, a truly enjoyable experience and a hotel I would gladly return to.

positives: -Location was nice. Close to attractions, shopping and restaurants. It's walkable from the train station if you can handle walking up a hill. -Room size was decent. It felt big. The bed was a king and fairly comfortable - a bit firm, but decent linens. There was even a bathtub. Water temp and pressure were good. The mini fridge worked. There were USB outlets to charge your phone. -Included 2 bottles of water, soap, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, shaving kit, 1 toothbrush/paste, cotton rounds and swabs, shower cap, and nail file. negatives: -Check in was a bit off. We pre-checked in online. But when we arrived the woman at the counter had a hard time finding our reservation. Traveling is always so exhausting...it didn't feel very welcoming when we arrived. -The Room quality was below expectations. While it was clean, it was dingy and over-used. Several lights were burnt out. The bathroom was very dark. The light in the make up mirror didn't work. -Our heating was broken all day. We didn't realize the thermostat kept shutting off. We called to have it fixed in the middle of the night...it took about 30 minutes for the system to reset. But it was fine after that. -Wifi only worked about half the time. -Someone pulled the fire alarm right after we fell asleep. It was very confusing and the evacuation was not well coordinated. It took us like 5 minutes to even realize that the building was being evacuated. There was not a route posted. -There was a fight in the hall in front of our door. Apparently the neighbor slammed the door on the housekeeper and her shoe got stuck. There was shouting. Then there always seemed to be someone lingering in the hallway outside our door. -The pool/sauna area was alright. The steam room gets nice and hot. But again...there were people lingering in both the men's and women's locker rooms being creepy. So couldn't enjoy that either. Overall, I would not stay here again.

Our last leg of our UK trip was in Edinburgh and our stay at the Radisson Blu Hotel was amazing, including the room, service and staff.

Shocking in every way except staff at reception polite Cold to freezing in room. Dark corridors. Lights not working : I had to request maintenance for bulbs. Room not cleaned for the whole day and finally came in at 7 pm after TWO reminders. : disturbing and unnecessary. Request report to senior management and corporate intervention and apology

Booked this hotel for the location on the Royal Mile and wasn’t disappointed. Very central to the main tourist attractions and restaurants and bars. Rooms were big and very comfortable Staff were friendly and very knowledgeable Poor and spa were great after a long day sightseeing

Whilst well appointed the hotel is very expensive for the product, we paid for a superior room which other than a view (far over to the right) of Arthur’s seat was in no way superior to our two daughters rooms, and the breakfast was good quality but if you walked less than fifty yards from the hotel would have been at least half the price. Three lifts serve the hotel, one was out of order throughout our stay and two the second morning… leading to waits for the small lifts.. sadly wouldn’t recommend this hotel as it’s expensive and doesn’t make up for the excellent location, the queue to check in didn’t help after my app failed, with no mention of my loyalty status

Disappointing stay – not a four-star experience The hotel was cold from the moment we arrived – even the lobby felt chilly. Our room was also cold, and the heating didn’t work until someone came to fix it. The telephone in the room didn’t work either, which was frustrating. Overall, the place felt tired and in need of attention. Very disappointing for a group that’s supposed to represent four-star quality. It certainly didn’t feel like one.
