"Fine hotel but very dated"

Hampton Inn is one of my favorite brands. I paid a rate significantly higher than other hotels in the area, since I find Hampton Inn to be a consistently good experience. I didn't have a bad experience, but I also didn't have a great experience. The rooms felt incredibly dated. The only room in the Hilton network I can remember that feels more dated is the DoubleTree Tropicana in Vegas, which is about to be demolished. The bed was also not super comfortable. On the plus side, I got a soda from the lobby and it was very reasonably priced. I ended up taking an Uber rather than the shuttle to RDU, since I was going to have to wait quite a while for the shuttle (I had a very early morning flight, and the shuttle doesn't run until 4AM). If the price is competitive and you are a Hilton loyalist, it is fine, but I wish I had gone with one of the cheaper options in the neighborhood.
