Wonderful place to stay! Clean and comfortable! The Gavel is the bar and restaurant which has great food and drinks! Leti is especially awesome in that she is friendly and gave great recommendations! Thanks Leti for making my birthday trip extra special!!!!

Denise from the bar was so fantastic. She was very helpful and always provide a great customer service. We always enjoy going to the bar at night and also ordering great food. The burgers here are so fantastic. The rooms are clean. The pool is beautiful and the staff are extremely friendly highly recommend this place

Denise was absolutely amazing behind the bar during our stay! She was friendly, attentive, and made every drink perfectly. You could tell she genuinely enjoys what she does she remembered our names, our favorite drinks, and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Her energy made the atmosphere feel so welcoming and fun. We ended up spending more time at the bar than we planned because of her great service! If you’re staying at this hotel, definitely stop by the bar and ask for Denise — she’s the best!

We chose this hotel because of its location. It is walking distance to the Alamodome and is steps away to the Riverwalk, distilleries/brewery, and restaurants. The hotel has a full service bar and restaurant /coffee shop. The hotel and room is very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Overall this was a great stay. The building itself is historic. I love the old school feel. Everyone was so nice. The beds were comfortable. The river view was not the most beautiful (pic included). The lobby is so cute. The restaurant is a little pricy for food that is sort of average. The fitness center was alright but the cable machine was awful and the temp was way too hot! Valet was super nice and quick. Be careful though, we got charged for two vehicles for some reason. The hotel is taking care of it but just review your charges at the end. The location is fantastic! Right at the start of all the fun stuff on the riverwalk.

Great room for the price - came to San Antonio for Dia de los Muertos festival and the hotel made it a special experience - the restaurant serves a great omelet

The location is perfect walkable basically everywhere in downtown and everyone is so nice. We felt it needs a bit more attention in the cleaning for the rooms and some maintenance with the sink faucets and shower (we had 2 rooms and both had issues) and that's the only reason I don't give it 5 stars.

If you don’t mind sticky floors, a dirty desktop and bathroom counter top along with a black boot print on the freshly made bed, then this place is for you. Seriously, all these things were noticed in this room minutes after arriving. A call to the front desk was made requesting a new room. The first solution was to send up housekeeping. Nope, that wasn’t going to work. A request for a new room was made and granted after they asked if the bathroom or touched or used. Regardless, the room needs to be cleaned properly I told them! Was a key brought to us for the new room? No. Was an apology made for the inconvenience? No. Does the hotel staff need some work on hospitality? Yes indeed! In hindsight, a move to a different hotel should have been made. Folks, save your money and spend it on a hotel that is cleaner, has better hospitality and whose online presence actually depicts what you are getting.
