"Overbooked and just sent to the streets. "

Hotel was overbooked and I wasn’t offered any compensation at all. To make it worse, it was Saturday night around 10PM and I couldn’t find a room any place. I ended up walking the streets endlessly. There was no manager on duty for me to speak with either. The check-in desk was located within the bar and lounge. The music was liking which would have been fine on its own but the staff and I could hardly communicate.

The entire process was a hassle from original booking to final vehicle pick up. I booked 2 rooms, one for us and one for a friend. I was charged an arbitrary just over half at original booking with the remaining balance due at check in. I was hounded multiple times to check in early online and went through the process which included taking a photo of drivers license, answering multiple questions and taking a selfie. Upon arrival, the valet attendant had no clue how to explain what to do with our car while we were parked out front. The man at check in wasn’t much help either. After quite a bit of confusion and back and forth, I finally just decided to leave the car parked out front and just check in. Check in involved providing a copy of drivers license and a paper version of the form asking for answers to the questions I already completed digitally. Additionally, the ‘free’ drink and breakfast vouchers were separate fee that, while equaled the total of the room charge, felt off since they should have been included in the total fee. The incidental deposit also had to be run as a separate transaction, requiring tapping the credit card twice. Our room smelled like garbage and the floor was wet.

"Break from Home"

My family and I stay at this location regularly during my daughter’s hospital appointments at Ann & Laurie’s, and it truly feels like our second home. The Manager, Mike, always takes a moment to ask how my daughter is doing, and that genuine care means the world to us. The staff here go above and beyond—Raymond, in particular, never fails to make my daughter smile, which is a bright spot in our trips. My wife enjoys Alex greetings as well. The rooms are updated and modern, which feels like a nice touch for our small-town family. The beds are cozy and comfortable and the layouts of the handicap rooms make it convenient for our daughter’s wheelchair maneuverability. Being right on the Magnificent Mile, the location is unbeatable—everything is within easy walking distance. Regarding pricing, it’s worth noting that city taxes and other fees are outside the hotel’s control. The amenity fee includes beverages, gym access and breakfast, which is something we always take advantage of. If you’re booking through a THIRD PARTY WEBSITES - Expedia, Booking, Trip Advisor, etc… Please be aware that they DON’T include these when booking which can lead to unpleasant surprises. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you book directly through the hotel’s website, where all costs are clearly listed.

The location was perfect—right in the heart of the city and in a safe area—but unfortunately, that was the hotel’s only real advantage. While the breakfast was good and complimentary bottles of water were provided daily, the positives ended there. The room itself was extremely old and worn out. Housekeeping only came once every three days, which was far from ideal. It was so dirty in our bathroom by day 3 and no garbage removal... To top it off, when we ordered a cocktail at the bar, the ice had a distinctly unpleasant taste. Overall, the prime location was what saved our stay, but everything else fell short.
