Royal Palms Resort and Spa, part of Hyatt

TL;DR: I left a valuable, sentimental item in my room, notified the hotel immediately after checkout (before the room was reoccupied), and received no meaningful assistance beyond a repeated scripted response. At this price point, I expected far more care and effort. Very disappointing experience. I stayed for a business trip and accidentally left behind a very valuable and unique Hermès scarf, neatly folded on a shelf in the closet area of my room. This was not “misplaced” somewhere in the hotel - it was left in the room. I realized it immediately after checkout and called right away. I was told nothing had been turned in to lost and found. I called again later that night - same answer. I specifically asked if someone could physically check the room, as a new guest had not yet checked in. I was told they are “in daily communication with housekeeping” and that nothing had been turned in. Since then, I have called every single day. Each time, I received the exact same response. I offered to send a photo of the distinctive scarf to help identify it - they said no. I asked whether anyone had directly checked the room or personally asked housekeeping about this item - again, the same scripted response. I understand that hotels cannot guarantee recovery of every item. However, when something is reported immediately after checkout and before a new guest arrives, I expect at least a direct room check and some indication of active effort. That did not happen here. At this price point, I expected professionalism, responsiveness, and genuine customer care. Instead, I felt dismissed. The restaurant and bar were excellent and the only highlight of the stay. Unfortunately, because of how this was handled, I cannot recommend this hotel -especially if you are traveling with anything valuable, whether financially or sentimentally.

I absolutely enjoyed everything about my stay at Royal Palms Resort and Spa. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional. The food was excellent, the customer service was warm and attentive, and the entire property was spotless and beautifully maintained. The ambiance is peaceful and inviting, with a natural setting that truly helps you unwind and reconnect with yourself. It’s the perfect place to relax, recharge, and feel pampered. I highly recommend this resort and look forward to returning in the future!

We loved the hospitality from the entire staff. Rebecca, who served us our breakfast each morning, was very friendly and accomodated our requests. We also enjoyed the complimentary apple cider delivered to our room for our anniversary. Overall, a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back soon. We will recommend Royal Palms to our family and friends.

Loved the welcome, staff was lovely and very helpful and food was excellent. Swimming pool and gym were great too.

It was luxurious and clean with ample amenities and activities.

No refrigerator or microwave in the room.

Great setting, nice accommodation. The rooms were clean, but the room may me up for renewal sooner or later (old shower etc) to keep up the 5*'s

We had a room near the street and the noise of the cars during the night was not optimal. Rather older on he inside.

My husband and I did a staycation to celebrate my birthday. Barbara, the resident historian, was beyond wonderful. She has a birthday card and macaroons delivered to our room. The immaculate property has such a rich history and we thoroughly enjoyed walking around and exploring all of its gems and hidden nooks. Dinner at T Cooks was incredible. We can't wait to go back!

A gem in the desert. A former estate home of an industrialist from New York over a century ago that was developed into a boutique resort & spa. The development was done so in a way that closely reflects the design aesthetic of the original estate. The staff is consistently professional, warm, and welcoming. They seem to work well as a team so there is a sense of good morale. Many, if not most, of the staff have been there for many years. The rooms are clean and the property kept neat with refreshing touches made here and there every year. Restaurant T. Cook’s is consistent with their delicious cuisine and the service which is attentive and cheerful. The spa is delightful. This is a special place that is one of understated, quiet elegance that guests of all ages can enjoy.
