The Saxon Inn

The bed was extremely comfortable, the room was nicely furnished with a nice view and everything was clean. The shower was excellent and easy to use. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast had a wide range of choices and was very good. The Saxon Inn and the church across the road were steeped in history. We would definitely stay there again.

The only downside was that we couldn’t get the heating to work. However I am sure if we had been staying longer and had reported it, it would have been dealt with.

Comfortable beds. Lovley quite wee village area. Staff were very welcoming.

Nothing. All good and nice food

Breakfast was v good, and chef was very friendly too love it. i am from SIngapore and staying in this Inn within a countryside is a dream, relaxing way to spend 5 days here.

perfect stay, nothing else to stay just what we needed

This is a lovely pub/inn. Very old but bang up to date when it comes to comfort and facilities (everything we needed was squeezed in). The food is really good. Just tasty pub food. The breakfast is fantastic. All the staff were so friendly and helpful.

Not really much to moan at. The area is quiet so you need a car. Although, the bus to Bishop Aukland stops outside (limited service). You can book a taxi or Uber was very easy to get.

We stayed at the Saxon as we were at a wake celebrating my Father-in-laws life. We always stay at the Saxon because the accommodation is outside, the location is first rate. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much. The breakfast is second to none.

I can't find anything negative to say.
