Riverside Hotel

The rooms were really big, clean and comfortable. Staff were extremely helpful. Minor inconveniences were addressed timely. The kitchenette was a nice touch to the room. Inclusion of a lift and planned exterior upgrades will better position this facility. A great experience altogether.

Nice little balcony overlooking river. Two comfortable beds. Lots of choice for evening meals, loved the Chinese and Thai choices. Friendly staff. They organised car hire for us.

Although they organised a taxi to meet us at the airport it didn't come. Luckily another driver was able to bring us. They told us the car hire should accept credit cards so when cash was needed this caused a problem for us . We should have brought more us dollars cash. In the room we had a large sofa but very low, so not so comfortable for us. Also the info had suggested a garden but there is no garden at all.

1) Living room is enormous with sofa and a table next to the balcony. The bedroom is slightly smaller but it is fine. It has a very good functional, quiet air conditioner. The living room has a fan, a FULL size fridge, microwave oven, stove , hot water boiler, and coffee maker. It is quite well equipped. Like many others hotels with kitchen, if you want to do some cooking, you need to get your own cooking oil and condiment. This is not an issue at all because the hotel has a restaurant with a complete menu that you don’t need to cook. I had a grill lobster and I would rather eat there then spend the time to cook it . 2) WiFi- Steven told me it has a router in EVERY room so the WiFi is really strong and you can do your work there. 3) Shampoo, soap, tooth brush , paste are all provided. 4) House keeping is done every day and garbage emptied. . In the U S, you have to pay for daily house keeping. You might get towel change once every 3 days. The garbage stays there for 3 days and you have to put it outside the door. This place has daily house keeping. 5) Room lighting. I like bright rooms. The rooms are very well lit. There are hidden light in the living room. Inside by the bed , there is very bright wall lamp. I really like the lighting. 6) The onsite restaurant offers 3 meals a day. I ate 3 meals there and I was happy with it. 7) Being next to a river means you can listen to the soothing sound of the river. 8) Shower room. Strong water. 9) Close to Indian river where you can take a cruise. I read that not far away, you can do a whale watching cruise. I walked to Fort Shirley and did a few trails there so the location is really many things. 10) Nearby there are 3 small convenient stores /mini-markets. 11) Bonus- Steven gave me a ride to the bus stop where I took a bus to the airport for 8 ECD. No extra charge for luggage.

Could have a long mirror in the room. Struggled to review attire from bathroom mirror

Missed breakfast, I think something should be put in place for people that may wake up late

We particularly loved the layout of the rooms and the amenities such as the fridge, stove etc. The room was in pristine condition and the staff was very helpful and accommodating. We had an issue with the room that they quickly got sorted out.

We had a great holiday in Dominica, partly due to our accommodation at Riverside Hotel. It’s a very peaceful place to stay, alongside a small, fast-flowing river. This attracts lots of tropical birds and butterflies to the vegetation at the side of it. Others have stated that it brings mosquitos. We stayed at the hotel for a week in May, had the windows open during the day, but did not get any sort of insect bites. There isn’t a pool, but a long sandy beach is just five minutes’ walk away. The suites are spacious and comfortable, with plenty of storage space for clothes etc. The staff is very welcoming and helpful, suggesting places to visit, eat, etc. We ate at the restaurant in the hotel most of the time. The menu is very varied and the prices very reasonable, and the helpings very generous. I can certainly recommend the Riverside Hotel.

The shower room would benefit from a couple of hooks to hang towels etc.
