Fairfield Inn Tuscaloosa

Location to eateries was excellent.

We were in the room above the pool and it was extremely loud from noise of people outside the pool area. It was like they were sitting by our window even though we were on 2nd floor.

I wish I had known about the construction prior to reservation

The property is being remodeled which wasn’t disclosed until our arrival. Our a/c unit leaked so badly that the carpet was soaked. We have liked this property in the past. Can only hope that the remodel will be done soon.

The hotel was remodeling ants and bugs were everywhere toilet over flooding beds was not cleaned

The area the property was located in is very convenient to everything from restaurants to nightlife. It was also close to the University of Alabama and I-20. I booked my room through a 3rd party although I am a marriott rewards member. I was told that my stay wouldn't count towards earning points for the rewards program. I was also denied early check-in although I was told by the young lady at the front desk that I could check-in early. She was nice about it. So I wasn't mad. She may be friendly but upon arriving at the hotel to check-in the professionalism and customer service was lacking. Apparently something happened before we arrived because staff from housekeeping was at the front desk and they were having a conversation. The front desk clerk who checked us in was trying to talk low because guests were standing there waiting to check-in. The female cleaning staff made a statement and rolled her eyes as if whatever happened upset her. It was hard to ignore her because she boldly stated in front of us that this is why a general manager need to be here. I can't say that I was surprised, but it was unprofessional. If you are going to have this type of conversation, please do it when no one is standing there to be checked in or occupying the lobby area. When we were finally checked in, as soon as we entered the room it smelt like mildew. Like the carpet was wet. Shout out to the lady who prepared and put out breakfast. She was nice and professional. I will not return.

Due to remodeling, the hotel was in disarray. Furnishings need replaced and beds had no bedskirts on them.

I have never stayed in a Farfield Inn by Marriot like the one I stayed in. The door to the room had a gap in it! It was not tightly closed! The bed had crumbs in it! The bathtub looked like pigs had played in it! Only one elevator in the building! The smell in the hotel was very unpleasant! I should have been given my money back! I will never stay at the Hotel never at 4101!!

I truly wish when booking in the site it said the hotel was under renovation. Still not a bad spot. I was a little off because I requested an upgrade in the Marriott portal. Usually the responses are answered quickly but not this time. I figured they were just busy., Upon our arrival, I was greeted by the front clerk, sitting in the breakfast area on her personal phone. When I asked about not answering my message she replied that she just started & was not told about that feature in their system. The room was nice & clean & comfortable. The breakfast was good. I would stay there again. Area was safe & lots of restaurants to eat.

Although there were renovations going on, staff was extremely nice. Any concerns I had were addressed immediately with a smile.

Front desk Curtis was excellent. Friendly professional need more employees like him others were not so friendly. Also Miss Betty was friendly n professional really enjoyed talking with both of them n they made my stay excellent thank you for those 2 employees n should be recognized for there work
