"Comfortable room and excellent breakfast"

6.0

Generally had a good stay - the room was comfortable and the breakfast was particularly good. The only complaint was that the walls were quite thin and we were kept awake at night by some people chatting loudly next door. For that reason we might hesitate to stay there again.

"Cheap and not so cheerful"

4.0

Rooms are beyond basic, decor is shabby 1970s without the chic, the taps wouldn't turn off in the bathroom and the shower pressure was pathetic. Parking is an extra £10 overnight on the weekend. Breakfast was pretty average for a hotel buffet, but I was astonished to be asked if I wanted anything from the bar, like a beer or spirits. It was 9:30AM!

Good sized room but needs updating here as it was so warm we had the fan on with no heating! And the toilet didn't flush like it should had too pull it several times also only one lift didn't help! Good for a few nights though but wouldn't stay a week in this hotel!

"Good stay"

10.0

Hotel was in a great location. Staff friendly. Room a bit dated but was clean and comfortable. Only one lift working at the time which was frustrating. Some areas of corridors lights were out. Dining room was nicely set out, breakfast buffett varied choice. Good value for money.

"Great staff and location but hotel is very dated"

8.0

All staff on reception, bar and security were good and welcoming. The hotel is very dated but clean. The corridors are very noisy so did not sleep that well. Good location though and perfect for 1 night away.

"One Night stay for night out."

6.0

Ok overall stay for the one night, as a place to lay your head it was what you need. Rooms were a little old fashioned, and had a strange smell. Nothing bad, just old smelling. It would be a good place to stay for hitting the town, or for the football.

Such a bad hotel with poor service! AVOID AVOID AVOID! If you do book (don’t) don’t expect to get a room anything like on the pictures. Made a complaint and emailed 4 times…can’t even be bothered to reply ! Expedia should be ashamed promoting this hovel on their site.

"Don't stay here if you like your sleep and are hoping for a peaceful and relaxing time!!!"

2.0

A few family members go away every year for a catch up and Christmas shopping. We chose the Roundhouse this year as a cousin had stayed here last year and said it was good in a great location. Positives first - yes it's a great location, short walk to the seafront easily managed by elderly mum and aunt and close to pubs, restaurants etc. Rooms were clean enough. Negatives now rooms were roasting hot, with one room having no adjustable radiator and one a tiny window that opened for air - there was a fan already left in this room. Bathrooms were even hotter and again with no control, they were unbearable. No sleep and anti-social behaviour, we spent two nights here Fri & Sat and had little sleep either night. You expect some noise in hotels but this was on a different level. People talking loudly, TV's blaring, swearing (the language was atrocious with children staying in the hotel)and fighting until 4/5 am both nights. My mum and aunt's (both nearly 80) room had an interconnecting door (only locked by a simple not very strong pull across lock - no key lock) which was tried from the other side early Sat morning. The following night this was tried again around 4am and then the room door was tried with a key card. Mum crept to look through the spyhole to see a man trying to gain access to their room. They were really scared, couldn't ring reception as no phones in the rooms and the number on the booking details was just an automated number, they couldn't get through to talk to someone. They didn't want to wake the rest of us as we had to drive the next day on a long journey. They summoned the courage to go down to reception, passing people laying on the floor in the hallways. The deputy manager had no empathy just telling them it was drunk people and they would go to sleep soon. The next morning we all complained and the reception staff were surly and clearly not interested. We were told this was regular occurrence for Fri & Sat nights, the night porters couldn't cope and were scared to approach people for the fear of being stabbed and there was no point in phoning the police as it usually took them 6 hors to arrive. The hotel is currently housing Asylum Seekers, I can't say if it was them causing the disturbance but did suggest they maybe kept the other paying guests on a different floor but were told they couldn't do that as there are too many of them.
