SLS South Beach

Boutique, hip hotel - right in the beach - a few blocks from Lincoln road - great location . Very small rooms. No closet, be prepared to bump into your spouse a lot. Anything you buy at the hotel is expensive. Pounding electronic music during the day. Just stay in the beach away from everyone. Cartagena restaurant is very good - food is tapas style done in a unique way — I would stay here again

Quite possibly the worst hotel stay I’ve had. Let me start off by saying I’m not particularly nitpicky when it comes to things and never write reviews but I did feel compelled to write this one. I’ve been wanting to stay at the SLS for sometime. They always seemed like the place to be with the supercars parked outside and party music. ARRIVAL Check in process was bad, was informed my reservation had been cancelled and front desk claimed they reached out but didn’t. Was sold the room as it was still available. No apology for cancellation. $400 in incidentals ouch. Valet wasn’t friendly. No one ( valet)cared to greet me or open a door during entire stay. ROOM Room was small and dated. I knew it would be small but was slightly surprised at how small. Sharp edges in shower presents a hazard. Legit took 15 minutes for hot water. Toilet flushed weird. Hit my shin on the bed a few times but the bed was comfortable and the view was nice 11th floor facing downtown Miami. PROPERTY Hotel grounds were cool. Weird and cramped front desk area, seemed to be an afterthought. Seeing the flock of supercars parked everyday was pretty cool. Katsuya is very nicely decorated. RESTAURANTS Only visited 2 during my stay, Katsuya and the outdoor one near Katsuya. Food was pretty average and nothing really stood out. Had to wait half an hour for a glass of Prosecco. Room service was cool. I did have to call guest services as the room service button got me nowhere. STAFF Staff were mainly hit or miss mostly misses. Front desk wasn’t helpful, valet wasn’t helpful or friendly, restaurant staff tried sometimes. The whole place had me feeling like I was intruding on their space instead of being a welcomed paying guest. OVERALL Had a few packages delivering hotel and the staff delivered half and claimed they couldn’t find the rest. Had to wait while they searched multiple times. Also believed I was charged for it. Had to sign multiple papers. Just left a sour taste in my mouth. Stayed at alot of high end properties in Miami (ritz, satai) and around the world and this has to be the worst experience by far. It may look the part from the outside but once you step through those doors boy oh boy….

We recently stayed at the SLS South Beach and overall had a pleasant experience with some notable highlights and areas for improvement. The room was beautifully designed, with a decent size and a fantastic ocean view. The front desk staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, making check-in and any requests smooth and efficient. However, the pool area left something to be desired. Cleanliness was an issue, as we noticed trash and even animal droppings, which were only removed after we reported them. Additionally, the competing music from the neighboring Hyde Beach Club and the hotel’s own pool created a rather chaotic atmosphere. It would be better, if they using the same music. There was also construction noise from a nearby site, but this seems to be a general issue across South Beach at the moment. The gym was adequate, but the Peloton bike had technical issues - its shoe straps were broken and couldn’t be tightened properly. They need some maintenance! Housekeeping could also use some improvement, as minor details were overlooked during our stay. The beach itself was beautiful, there is no direct access from the hotel - you need to walk around the building. That said, the hotel provides lounge chairs, towels, and a fantastic snack bar. A special mention goes to Sebastian, who offered outstanding service and made our beach experience even better. The valet service was very convenient, fast, and friendly. Tanja, in particular, stood out with her exceptional service, always ensuring a smooth and quick experience. Overall, the SLS South Beach offers a stylish stay with excellent service in some areas, but there are aspects that could be improved, particularly in terms of cleanliness and maintenance.

Great location. Not perfect but no real complaints. We were only staying pre cruise for two nights. We had a King Bedroom which was nice. Another couple with us had a standard room and they said it was tiny. Straight onto Lincoln Drive - ten minute walk to Ocean Drive. Would we go back. Definite yes.

So many things wrong with this hotel . Three night stay ( still here ) and so far - cold shower . Had to get maintenance to room to explain we have to just wait and wait for warm water - phone not working in room so waiting for maintenance for ages and couldn’t even call reception - dirty . Large deposit of “poo” by pool . Not even cleaned up by staff who put our towels down next to it !

We love staying at the SLS. Weekday pool service was sparse if not nonexistent, and there was a lot of construction noise this time, however, that is not typical compared to previous visits. Hopefully just a temporary thing. Centro Bar is always hopping & walkability is fantastic.

Had an amazing stay with the family. Great location. Easy access to the beach. Close to shopping and dining on Lincoln Road and Ocean Drive.
