La Quinta by Wyndham Kingsport Tri Cities Airport

The location is great. Easy interstate access. Close to Bristol Motor Speedway.

The main hallway on our floor had a bad odor, musty/moldy or old. The bed was noisy, every time you slightly moved it made a popping noise that sounded like metal popping. The breakfast was not good, the eggs were a color that have never seen in eggs and the sausage was gross looking - same for the color. We did not eat any of the breakfast. When we stayed here before there was a snack room to the right of the front desk that had all kinds of options. The only thing available in it this trip was water. On the floor where it said vending, there was no vending available. We had a reservation for 2 nights but only stayed 1.

It was affordable.

Nothing like a La Quinta Inn It was nasty and it smelled horrible The floor was dirty and the bathroom was undesirable The breakfast had no fruit available for quest The whole building should be remodeled.

As soon as we opened the door to the room, there was an atrocious urine stench. It was very late however, and we did know we were in a pet room, after a very long day of driving we just turned in for the night. Once we turned all the lights on in the morning, we saw the bathroom wall was covered in black mold. We went to the front desk clerk to voice our concerns, and were told that they would write a note for the manager. We asked to speak with the manager, and the clerk stated he did not know what time the manager would come in, as it was after shift change. Honestly, completely disgusted and disappointed. Not only the state of the room, but the utter disinterest in the concerns we voiced was appalling.

Only the location

We had stayed there two other times and it was great. This time we asked for a king room. The one they gave us had holes in the wall, which they said was remodeling. But, it had only one bedside table. On the other side was no table, no lamp, and no plugs on that side. We thought maybe this was a remodeling thing so we went back to check-in and asked for another room. I asked the manager if that room would have a table and lamp. He answered”yes”. It didn’t! Back down. Another younger man was there and called the manager. They spoke in Hindi I believe, so I couldn’t make out the conversation. This young man said none of the rooms had two bedside tables, etc. He sent us to another room. It was the same. He said one of the suites might have two tables/lamps. I went to look, it didn’t. We canceled the reservation and said we would no longer stop there, and set up a reservation at SleepIn across the street. After that the young man said, it’s nicer. They were.. The manager is a liar, the hotel looks shabby for the price, it doesn’t represent Wyndham well and this owner should not have been approved as a Wyndham owner. I’ve stayed at dozens of hotels over the last 20 years and never in a king room without two bedside tables and lamps.
