Quality Suites Altavista - Lynchburg South

Staff was very friendly at check in, and at breakfast. Lots of breakfast options available. Our room smelled like smoke, but was otherwise cleaned ok (some hair on the bath mat, all drawers were open). The room and bathroom were very run down. The beds are probably the most uncomfortable hotel beds I have ever stayed in. The walls were also paper thin; we could hear the full conversations of people in the next room.

All was fine

Check in was quick, room was clean and comfortable. We were in room 111 and the room above us had a dog and people who stomped and pitter pattered on the floor all night. I called the front desk at 11:00pm when they advised they would contact the occupant but it continued ALL night! Suggestion to staff: all guests with pets should be placed on the first floor. Did not get a restful night of sleep.

The staff here are wonderful. Everyone from the front desk to the kitchen staff. The one person who stood out for me was Mrs. Leslie Pannell. From her warm greeting to making sure everyone had what they needed she made sure our experience was great. The food was delicious and I hope her manager recognizes that she is a shinning star.

After visiting here a few times, I have to say, this review is VERY overdue. Every experience with a staff member was pleasant, from checking in at the front desk to even the food. Speaking of which, the breakfast especially is amazing, as far as I know the person who manages it the most is Leslie Pannell (cooks, cleans up, refills) and she does a FANTASTIC job. Not only does the food taste amazing (especially the eggs), but she manages to keep the space tidy, refill food / drinks, and talk with guests. Genuinely one of the best hotel experiences I've had in a VERY long time, and I'd love to stay again.

This price for the stay was very budget friendly, breakfast was good, staff was friendly, I requested an early checkin as I was traveling with an elderly parent and they were very accommodating even giving me a room that was close to the front door on the ground floor

The first room we were assigned to was not clean and they had to give us another one, but that’s at the tone for the trip. The second room was clean, but the security lock did not work, which concern me. The water in the bathroom faucet was slow.
