Hampton Inn Chicago-Gurnee

I love how convenient it was. I loved the free breakfast. The room was okay, but the walls were very thin so it made it hard to try to sleep because of the noise. I also found old receipts behind one of the chairs in the room so that made me realize that they do not clean that good. Overall, the breakfast and pool were my favorite part of my stay. I would recommend and stay here again.

The bed made clunky noises. There was no room to eat breakfast. The pool closes early and opens late. The parking was very limited due to construction. The one open treadmill was broken. The $50 fee was not what I expected and was not warned about in the reservation. The hair in my shower was not my favorite. The hallway was hot and smelly. The staff was courteous and helpful. The view was interesting of Six Flags. The temperature was comfortable and easily adjusted in the room. Check in was fast even with the line. The fitness room was small but full of equipment. The ice machine was great and the bottle filler was helpful. What we could get to for breakfast was tasty and hot. It wasn’t a bad stay, unfortunately we are just comparing it to our very recent stay at Hampton Inn in Kenosha and that was perfection; Sours it for other locations.

Nobody disclosed the hotel was being renovated. .. Construction staging area outside our window- very noisy. We requested connecting rooms over a month prior to our stay. After 2 phone calls, was told the best they could do was 2 rooms on same floor... 509 and 513. When we arrived, they gave us 513 and 112. Huge inconvenience to be 4 floors apart as we were travelling with young children. On top of that, the room on the 5th floor was newly renovated while the room on 1st floor was dated, old and very stained carpeting and stunk like cigarette smoke. I never expected such low quality from a Hampton Inn.

Bugs on the walls. Cables hanging out of the walls. Refused refund.

Close to everything, pool was nice

People had dogs that barked all night, no one did anything about it. There weren’t enough parking spots to accommodate all the guests and I was parked outside of hotel parking. The hotel smelled moldy. The elevators were terrifyingly slow and made weird sounds

Very convenient

Although this property has signs stating that they were under renovations, there wasn't any indication of that being done. Every cushion in the lobby was stained and there was really not anywhere to sit. That was clean. Also leave breakfast mediocre area for breakfast which is the lobby area again was in extremely poor conditions

Stay was great the only bad was the plug ins didn’t work very well

Breakfast was terrible and they had construction going on. Our mini fridge did not work. Room was clean and mattress was confortable.

The staff was very friendly, from the first greeting to checkout. Every interaction was pleasant and professional. Rooms were clean, carpet was clean, no complaints here. The main lobby was a bit noisy since there was a party with a lot of kids but that's not something that is the staff's fault.
