Courtyard Detroit Utica

My daughter and I went to our room after check in on the second floor. Upon getting off the elevator the hallway wreaked of pot. Once in our room I even cracked the window to air it out but it did not leave. I requested another room and was given one which in turn had no toilet paper or sheets for requested sofa bed. Finally a chance to take my daughter to the pool but that was even short lived because an unruly family showed up and did nothing but cause havoc in the pool. It was so unbelievably loud and kids literally running all over us and jumping in the pool that we had to leave. I normally never complain and have been a million places, we just wanted a nice evening out prior to school and was absolutely disgusted. Not to mention how dirty the gym was. !!!!!!

Toilet never worked properly in room and we couldn't change room. The public womens bathroom also flooded. It was hot in lobby area. Not worth the money. They have a lot to work on. Do not stay at this hotel.

After the first hotel I made a reservation at called and stated tyey had no rooms I was a little frazzled. We get to the Courtyard and front desk worker, Fred is amazing. He talks to us as we check-in, asks about our visit to The Reptirium after we get back from that, gets my son blankets for the sofa bed. All around amazing man. Super friendly and im glad hes the face of the 5pm check-in.

Bathrooms dirty. Old moldy pics hung up. Plugs didn’t work. No ironing board

Property was clean and wonderful staff service. Lobby had no AC not sure whether it was being fixed but it sure was hot. After travelling for 4 hours and visiting family, when got to the room as I open the sofa bed it had no bed sheet on nor did the room had any extra bed sheets or blanket for us to use the sofa bed so had to go down to get those. Kids were super tired so had to prepare the sofa bed for them which took awhile. Also outside by the parking area its very dark not a single light in the parking lot. Had to use flash light from phone to see.

Kim at front is very nice and welcoming...this is the only good experience. Old hotel with a face-lift. Upon entering my room, the small entrance light is very dull.Rooms are old. Lights do not work. Bathroom is very old. The fan in the bathroom is too loud. The hotel phone in the room does not work-useless. My light at the sink does not work. So I brush my teeth in the dark. The night lamp and the wall next to the bed has old spill left....no one cared to clean it. At 745am breakfast was not available. It seems like bad management. If I knew this before I would have certainly chosen another hotel to stay at. I only chose this hotel from my Marriott App because it is Marriott....not Marriott caliber.

Attractive facility at a reasonable price. Pool had a film on walls. Fitness room had pile of dead bugs. Room toilet had not been cleaned and stain on bed skirt. AC was on super low string and got carpet wet
