God help This place

First room we had TV didnt work, Fred at reception had a look couldnt fix it and offered us another room, this guy from check in to departure was first class. Rooms are pretty tired looking decoration wise including the bathroom / shower. Place overall is clean and tidy. Value for money on the whole i guess so.

I CANNOT recommend the Courtyard in Utica, Michigan to others. During our stay at the hotel, we encountered some maintenance issues that impacted our experience. When we reported a clogged toilet to the front desk, we were offered a plunger to rectify the situation ourselves, which we found to be less than satisfactory for a guest. Shortly after the call, we overheard a conversation outside our door between two employees determining who would be responsible for requesting we perform the maintenance to the toilet ourselves. The lamp shade in the room exhibited liquid stains. Additionally, there was a lack of outlets or charging stations near the night stands, and the sofa sleeper was not functional as a sleeper. There were disruptions due to ongoing construction at the hotel, which was not communicated to us prior to booking the event space for our mother's 90th birthday celebration. This led to unexpected inconveniences such as a sudden water shut-off during our preparations. Causing several of our guests to be unable to freshen up or shower before our event because of the water disruption. Furthermore, the room designated for our event lacked air conditioning, and although we attempted to address this with the front desk, we were initially given false information. We received false information indicating that they were unable to adjust the temperature control. Subsequently, the front desk admitted their deception and informed us that it was malfunctioning. As a result, we were advised to improvise by propping open a door to the outdoor patio. Leaving the door open caused insects to enter the event room during meal service. In addition, we were required to undertake manual labor by setting up tables and chairs then relocating items to another room for our event. This included tasks such as moving furniture and equipment, which we had not anticipated having to do ourselves. Due to insufficient water supply, presence of insects in the event space, and inadequate ventilation, it was it was an embarrassing and disappointing experience hosting our mother's 90th birthday celebration at this facility. Finally, this hotel is situated within a residential area, which may present challenges in terms of accessibility and locating the establishment.

Rooms are spacious and clean. No free breakfast nor coffee (have to use on-site Starbucks restaurant to order food for breakfast). Brandon at the restaurant is awesome. HOWEVER, no a/c in downstairs and rest of hotel (hallways). Rooms were fine with a/c, ALSO - all lights were out on the entry/eating area. (I told front desk- does anyone even know about this?)...

Easy check-in, indoor pool, lnside Starbucks coffee with breakfast and amazing staff

Tammy was amazing. We had an incident and she took control and fixed the issue

The showerhead was improperly installed so it leaks and does not work properly. The outlet by the sink does not work. Tried to reset it by utilizing the GFCI reset bottoms but that did not work. Someone needs to look at it. The wallpaper in the far-left corner of the room is piling up and rippling. Looks like possible water damage.
