Dover Town Rooms - Short Lets & Serviced Accommodation - Dover

Easy location to Dover Castle and near enough to White Cliffs. Also close to rail station.

Bed was lumpy and small.

Easy connection between the railway station and the port of Dover. Easy check-in.

Poor renovation this very bad sound insulation between rooms..too hot in summer....carpet everywhere, so I cannot imagine very clean and proper hygiëne.

Good location, walking distance to the Castle, shops, restaurants. The room itself was clean and mostly comfortable. Kitchen also seemed well equipped even though I only used the fridge and microwave.

The fact the toilet and shower are in the same room as the bed (without a wall/door separating them) is kind of weird. I wish they offered liquid hand soap as well.

The room was big, bright and airy. Lovely views of Dover castle. Kitchen was clean and had plenty of equipment to cook with. Bathroom clean and shower, had good pressure and was nice and hot. Great location. Within walking to bus and train, local attractions and supermarkets.

I was happy with everything.

Locating Dover Town Rooms presents something of a challenge. Google maps does not acknowledge the existence of Eastbrook Place, which appears to be part of another road, Maison Dieu Road, and actually has Dover Town Rooms marked at no. 3, not no. 5. It is quite easy, if coming by car, to sail past the property heading towards the end of a busy one-way street with 2 lanes, as one concentrates on negotiating the intersection ahead, wondering if you have simply missed it, or whether it lies further ahead beyond the traffic lights. Nor is it particularly easy to identify the number 5. Do not make the mistake, as I did, of imagining that there might be a helpful sign outside saying 'Dover Town Rooms'. There is merely a darkly painted door with a number 5 on it. Check-in was something of an ordeal, and not an experience I would choose to repeat in a hurry, requiring photos of driving licence, uploads to a website, full address, email, phone number (no autofill), etc etc. That completed, I arrived and was greeted by a rat scuttling along the pavement and into a vent hole - though admittedly it seemed to be resident at the adjoining property, no. 4. Armed with various codes, I was able to gain entry, at which point things began to improve. The hallway was brightly lit - almost too brightly - and appeared to have been the recipient of large amounts of white paint recently applied. Following a brief tussle with the key box outside my room, I found myself in what was quite a pleasant

Great place A little noisy at night

Ich hatte ein fabelhaftes Zimmer nach hinten heraus ( Zimmer 5).Optisch ansprechend, sauber und ganz ruhig mit hohem Fenster und daher wunderbar hell. Die benutzbare Küche war sehr gut ausgestattet und in sauberem Zustand. Der Kontakt zum/zur Inhaber/in verlief zügig und freundlich. Tipp: Zimmer zur Hauptstraße nicht zu empfehlen, da unglaublich laut! Adapter mitbringen, Achtung: Nicht für Badezimmer, weil zu hoher Volt.
