Econo Lodge Cedar Rapids South

The gal at the front desk was exceptionally friendly and very helpful. The carpet was dirty, the beds were super soft, we had to park around towards the back/side of the building. Very poor lighting. The entrance door from that side of the building did not lock nor did the second floor door to the hallway where the rooms were. I did not feel overly safe. I have not stayed at an econo Lodge before and I'm not sure if it would be my choice in the future, based on this hotel.

Was not comfortable to us at all. The walls were thin. The beds were loud with you moved and hard. The bathroom wall by the toilet had poop smeared on it. The moment we woke up we’re packed and left.

The day I checked in I got the run around about price, check in policies, etc. It changed moment by moment, never could get an actual invoice BUT was quoted over $100 more than what I booked through Expedia. Explanations changed by the moment. AND, they submitted charges to two separate cards of mine and I still don't know what I was charged or why the Expedia commitment was not honored. My room lock didn't work so I couldn't leave the room and lock it behind me. They gave me a different room and after offering to help me move my stuff, the staff person turned and walked away and did NOT help. People were hanging around outside smoking, blocking the exits, the police were called twice the first day I was there.

The property is about what you would expect for the price. For some reason two of the female front desk attendants reminded me of guards in a female correctional facility. Downright rude.

The room had dirty washclothes and towels. My friend and I have never had this problem before. Also, the floor was dirty and the room smelled of marijuana. As I mentioned, I stay at the Econo Lodge frequently, and have never had this problem.

We found a guy blacked out in the hall infront of our room, had 3 crackheads stare us down at 3 am, and the next morning got asked about a hooker named Lucky

The hotel was under renovation and very sketchy looking. The interior rooms dirty, but trim was falling off the walls, the alarm clock was sticky, sticky residue on the table, curtains hooks broken.

I would not recommend this unless this you only choice to stay. I picked this for a one night stay for spur of the moment and I went by the ratings. Truly they weren’t accurate.The desk clerk when I arrived in the evening didn’t seem like she wanted to be there. The bed had coil springs so every time you moved on it you could here them squeak. The walls were paper thin and I could hear the couple in the room next to me in the wee hours of the morning so I didn’t sleep well after I had been traveling all day. There was a picture on the wall that someone wrote over with a sharpie with some in appropriate things so they don’t inspect their rooms. I won’t be coming back. I suggest spending a little more money on room.

It is a working class hotel. Need to park a trailer they have room. Get dirty doing your job they aren't going to make you leave. Security cameras everywhere. Gas station almost next door for gas or diesel and a beer. Perkins down the road for dinner.

I like that staff was friendly and informational they was pn time with room service every morning
