Saltair Inn Waterfront B&B

What a great experience at the Saltair Inn. Matt and Kristi were excellent hosts from the moment we arrived. The Inn is spotless, comfortable, and easily walkable to Bar Harbor. Off street parking is a big plus. We were there three nights and enjoyed delicious breakfasts each morning along with homemade snacks available anytime. So much attention to detail. The back decks and large yard looking into the bay are a vacation right in your backyard. When we return to Bar Harbor we will definitely stay at the Saltair Inn.

This was the highlight of our trip. The property was beautiful, and we had an amazing room overlooking the water. The location was perfect, walkable to the downtown area. The breakfast was delicious and the hosts were great. If you're looking for that perfect coastal experience, this checked all the boxes for us.

This has to be the finest B&B in Bar Harbor. Matt and Kristi are amazing hosts. We stayed here for 3 nights. The breakfasts were superb; creative and yummy. The blueberry pancakes were the best I have ever had, and the California style eggs benedict was a new spin on a traditional dish. Our room was lovely, and had a large jet tub (which we didn't use but I'm sure it's great.) The location is perfect... right on Frenchman Bay, and only about a block or two to get to the shops and restaurants. Also, parking in Bar Harbor is a nightmare, so the free ample parking out behind the B&B was much appreciated. I have only one suggestion... perhaps a small mini-fridge in each room would be nice. Even though I clearly marked my name on my beverage in the communal fridge, someone ran off with it... but then again, bad manners are not Matt and Kristi's fault. Be sure to inquire about the history if the Inn if you stay there, it is very interesting.

Breakfast every morning was delicious! The house was beautiful. The view from the back porch was amazing! We were in walking distance to stores restaurants. Matt & Kristi were wonderful hosts.

This was our sixth year staying at the Saltair Inn, and we can hardly wait for year seven! From the moment you arrive, you're welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality from Matt & Kristi. They go above and beyond to ensure every stay is special, offering personalized recommendations on what do around Mt. Desert Island. We've many local gems thanks to their thoughtful suggestions. The rooms are always spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The view of the ocean and fireplace from bed in the Harbor Suite is our favorite, with the Acadia Suite a close second. Both options include a clawfoot soaking tub with Saltair's special bath salts. Kristi is a fantastic cook and her breakfast is always phenomenal. Every morning feels like a gourmet experience. Fresh-baked pastries are also often available throughout the day. It’s clear a lot of love and care goes into every detail. The Saltair Inn has become our favorite summer tradition. Book early if there's still availability!

We celebrated our anniversary here and could not have asked for a better visit. Kristi and Matt have thought of pretty much everything to ensure that you have a perfect stay and they are helpful and friendly hosts, full of great recommendations. Delicious made to order breakfasts were a highlight and the dining area is stocked with water, soft drinks and an afternoon treat every day. We stayed in the Chart Room. It was spacious, well appointed and comfortable although I think next time we will stay in an ocean view room. The property abuts the bay and there are Adirondack chairs sprinkled over the lawn. A perfect place to enjoy the sunset and a glass of wine. Thanks for such a memorable vacation, Kristi and Matt! We will be back.

We loved our 6 night stay at Saltair Inn. The location couldn't be better for restaurants and shopping in Bar Harbor or a short drive to Highway 3 for side trips. It has a beautiful view of the harbor and the sail and motor boats moored there. Quiet and peaceful setting with the Adirondack chairs in the back yard and steps down to the sand and rock "beach". Enjoyed our wine out there in the evenings. Beautiful , well maintained home with updated rooms and baths. Wanted to take the shower home with us. Never ran out of hot water. Our room was really a suite with a sitting area and was very comfortable as far as the bed, bedding, temperature, spaciousness and view. Kristi's breakfasts were exceptional--different every day and delicious. She has a real talent for imaginative breakfasts served with a flair. Breakfast is served at individual tables inside the Inn or outside on the large deck at one of the many tables. Kristi and Matt were actually the biggest plus of staying here. They are very friendly, happy, have great personalities and both were very helpful with recommendations of the best stops in the Park, restaurants and with directions. Overall, we had absolutely no complaints and our stay here added so much to our first trip to Bar Harbor. Already planning our trip to Saltair next year!

We had a wonderful stay, in a beautiful home with a gorgeous view and a great location. Matt and Kristi are gracious hosts, breakfasts were tasty and well presented and they, always made time to answer our questions or share a story. We hope to return.
