Saltair Inn Waterfront B&B

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Saltair Inn B & B. The location is great, and easily walkable to downtown. The view is spectacular. The hosts are so helpful and kind and the breakfasts are extra special. We definitely want to go back! We stayed in the Acadia suite with a semi private balcony. The bed was comfortable and the linens and towels were spa-like. We were there in the summer so we didn't need the two fireplaces or the heated bathroom floor, but those would be cozy in cold weather. We appreciated the ice cold central air conditioning, which is rare for houses this age in Maine. You won't be disappointed with this family run traditional bed and breakfast!

I immensely enjoyed my 8 nights at the Saltair Inn. The Innkeepers, Matt and Kristi, are so friendly and helpful. The Inn and my room were wonderful; I was very comfortable and could not have been more pleased. The view from the Inn is beautiful. The proximity of the Inn to Acadia National Park and the shopping and restaurants in Bar Harbor cannot be beat. Saltair Inn is a perfect place to stay in Bar Harbor.

We had the best time at Saltair Inn! The location is perfect - a few minutes walk to town and easy access to Acadia. The views were incredible and we enjoyed breakfast on the porch every morning. The breakfast is top notch and we are still dreaming of the French toast we had the morning after we arrived. We will certainly be back!

Property is a unique Victorian house just about 1/2 mile from center of Bar Harbor. Beautiful view out to sea. Hosts were very friendly and breakfast super, cooked to order. Usual issues with old house-long flight of narrow steps to top floors. Some issues with the hot water supply which were being worked on. Overall a great place for our first stay in town.

Saltair Inn was a lovely, beautifully relaxing place to stay when we visited Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Our suite, the Acadia, was gorgeous and ultra-comfortable, and certainly justified the price – like the garden and most of the house, it has a beautiful view over Bar Island and across the bay, and at low tide you can walk straight out onto the sand bar to the island. Kristi, Matt and family are very helpful hosts, providing all the information you need, and at the breakfast table (as well as enjoying delicious fresh food) you can pick up plenty more hints from other guests on hikes and explorations nearby. A special place in the area, highly recommended. And sorry this review is coming so late, but each of us thought the other had written one!

We could not have been happier with our choice to stay at the Saltair Inn. The location is perfect. Quiet and a bit away from the downtown hustle and bustle, yet close enough to walk there several times a day. The large back lawn and bay view were peaceful and gorgeous. I spent every morning listening to nature and taking in the views and smells of the sea and the low and high tide experience. Our room was quaint and clean and perfect. Heated bathroom floor, jetted tub and sweet lip moisturizer (it really was good enough to mention!). The bed and pillows were so comfortable! The best part, however, was the atmosphere at Saltair. Matt and Kristi were amazing hosts! They each took time to ensure that we personally felt welcome and comfortable. They were fun to talk with and shared all kinds of info about any topic in the area that we had interest in exploring. We enjoyed a different special breakfast option each of the 4 mornings we were there and a delightful sweet treat every evening. Spring water, soda and coffee were available at anytime. We will always stay at the Saltair when we are in Bar Harbor.

Stayed here for one night and had best sleep of our whole trip bed was extremely comfy ! The backyard was so calm and relaxing, couldn’t get enough of the beautiful views. What a bonus to walk out back with cup of coffee in the am at low tide to walk on the sand bar! Matt and Kristi are very accommodating and make a great breakfast!
