Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows

It was clean and spacious. The Branches evening entertainment was great. The view of the ocean was great and sunsets were spectacular.

I don’t mind the room being cleaned every other day but was a bit surprised that it wasn’t done until after 7 pm. I had plenty of towels but a clean bath mat wasn’t left and the coffee wasn’t refilled.

Very beautiful landscaping and walkable areas. The room was clean and well kept. Beautiful beach and rentals available. Good location. The biggest issue was the temperature in the rooms as the air con was either broken or too small for the room. It would not get below 80 degrees in our room. We couldn't open the windows because either the window screens were missing or bent and let in bugs like mosquitos.

While there were no issues with the people working here; the facility itself is horrible. Walls & ceilings are paper thin. You can hear every footstep, movement, and conversation of anyone next to, above, or below. Worst night of sleep in a hotel I've ever experienced. Do not stay here.

The location is perfect. The beach offers a bit more of a private experience away from some of the business of the other resorts. We stayed in an oceanfront bungalow, which was just the experience we were looking for. They also have great condos with what looked like ocean views available from every room. The staff was super friendly and kind. Overall a wonderful experience. This was a bucket list vacation celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary, and it didn’t disappoint.

The Royal Lahaina is a wonderful laid back, relaxed atmosphere. Much better than other resorts which are crowded and noisy. Beach access was a very short walk away. Resort grounds are kept picturesque. The beach is pristine with clear water. Nightly live music for that daily wind down. The only disappointment are the exorbitant parking and resort fees, amounting to an additional $100 per day. Keep that in mind. Other than that it was a great stay and experience.

We recently stayed here for 4 nights. I honestly wouldn't recommend it or come back. For a couple reasons. Don't be fooled by the nice lobby, the rooms are pretty outdated, have a mildew smell and mold. The smell was so bad I got a headache and was worried it would stick on our clothes. When we told the front desk about this, they sent a guy up with an air freshener instead of addressing the issue. The encounter with the employee was such an awkward experience, we forwent the air freshener and dealt with the smell. The hallways are unkept and have unfinished paint. For 3k+ I expected more. I give it 2 stars, mostly for the beach front access and the ocean views, other than that I would have rather spent my money elsewhere. I also wanted to add that the first night we were here the fire alarm went off twice. Each time was a false alarm. Not very relaxing.
