"Stunning and serine"

We couldn't recommend this hotel enough. From the aesthetic to the service, it was all top tier. Stunning rooms with private onsen over looking woodland and then out on to the hills... so serine! The rooms were based on Ryokens and we even had the robes to wear whilst floating about the hotel. Very close to the train station, albeit up a steep hill. A few local shops and restaurants nearby. Wish we had booked more nights at this wonderful place!

Our stay at Suiun was nothing short of amazing. The location is great, really close to Gora Station so exploring Hakone is a breeze. The highlight of the stay is the atmosphere Suiun provides. From the entrance everything is tatami and traditional japanese furnishings. We were offered Yukatas and were taught how to dress in them which added to the authenticity of a true traditional stay. The food - where to begin - we were served a kaiseki dinner and breakfast that felt more like a Michelin experience; everything of exceptional quality. The staff was attentive, careful and patient; thank you Hana and Aya for serving us with the highest attention to detail. Our room also featured a private hot spring bath which was awesome and helped us relax after a day of running around Hakone's great sites. We felt it was good value for money for what is offered and would definitely return here. Thank you to all the staff for offering us what is one of the best stays we had in Japan !
